For other 240 owners who are running a 502...... I currently have a 22 pitch but no make is listed......with 2 adults and 2 small kids, ice chest and with 60 gallon of gas. Were running around 38-40 at about 3100 rpm.

What prop are you running and what pitch?

Was asking you if that is what you are running? In your post you only mentioned 22 pitch.

I would go with a 23 Rev 4.

It does not say the make, not sure if all bravo 1's has always said it on the side in to the casting process. The only marking on mine is the pitch on the inside of the hub area.

I do get a lot (or seems to me) of bow steer cursing the no wake area, constantly turning the wheel side to side. Would like to try out the Rev..... Will see if I can track one down this summer.

I just wasn't sure if other 502 stock power 240's were running 24 or 22pitch props.

Another REV vote. Also in the 5mph zones put one trim tab all the way down. It will help the boat track straight

The Rev4 will give you more overall lift. They work great on standard vees like the 210,240, and 270.

Its a 4 blade. I'm pretty sure I have it correct, but will verify at Easter. We will be with 3 other 240 owners as will who have stock power and I will be able to get a good idea were we are at.

I'll take pictures at different RMP range with the speed on the gauge (I know it will not be the same as GPS).

I also typically trim out the drive about a 1/4 way up on the dial as well.

I run a 5 blade on mine. I like the cruising speed and towing the kids on tubes and skis better than with the 4 blade. 4 blade will be faster on top

i have a slightly built 502 in my 89 240 with bravo 1/ 1.50 ratio run a bravo 22 4 blade prop for trips when towing skiers or tubes solid out of the hole planes quickly taps the rev limiter at 5600 rpms @ around 50-55 mph if i try to hot rod it, when i'm out for long runs i have been running a bravo 24p or 26p 4 blade and motors spins around 5200 @ 72-73 mph full tank and all the gear my 240 also gets on plain very easy with both props no tabs.

On what power and drive?

It had a tired 572 in it. Soon to have a fresh obnoxious 580 in it. But still keeping it tame and on pump. Bravo one drive but thinking that will need to change soon

Tame 580 lol. Would love to get more power down the road, not sure if anything can be done to the 502 mpi I have or do I need to start with a new block. That is a new topic on its own. Coming to find out there are quite a few 240 with pretty good power.

They used to make a side mount whipped for the 502. There is plenty to do with that block. When I say tame, I'm going for reliability and longevity over getting that last bit of power. Should be about 475-500 when done[emoji106]

I have a Hallett 240 with a freshly rebuilt 502 similar to stock with better internals. I am spinning a stock 24p Bravo I 4 blade and the boat performs well in all driving conditions. Getting out of hole, top end, loaded with 12 people or just 1.

Thanks for the info.....I hoping I can try both the bravo 1 and the rev 4 this summer.

I'm gonna try this! Going from a bravo to rev made it a constant wheel jockey
