We were just there 3 weeks ago - awesome place! So much history. We needed more than the 6 hours we spent to take it all in.

We could have spent a day in each hangar!

Very nice, The current VC25 fleet (28000 & 29000) was my responsibility until my retirement at the end of 2015. They will be retired as well in a few years.

Daytona Ohio, next door to Wright-Patterson.
Ever been to the one here in Ca, March AFB?
They have a cool collection, some indoor some outside.
All manner of prop planes and an SR71 among others.
Pretty neat place.

I've been to March, they were just starting on it.

I was stationed up in Merced at Castle AFB, we had just started building that one. I stopped in couple years ago, base is closed but the museum was still active.

Castle is closed or March?

They say March is closed, but the aircraft I see in the sky every single day says otherwise. ;)
