Has anyone ever cut a tonneau cover to fit a truck??

I have an unknown brand cover, BelAir Camper shells in Garden Grove thinks it fits a 97-2003 Ford F150 because of the taper.

To put it on my 1990 F250, it will need to be widened 2" in the front & 3" in the rear.

Just wondering if this is possible, I got this cover for next to nothing.

Anything is do able. When you cut it you will want to scarf the painted side so you can step the new filler plies and not have a high spot. Then on the under side I would do a wide layup as a doubler or stiffener.

Thanks for the encouragement.

I stopped by RevChem in Costa Mesa, He sort of said the same on the grinding down a "keyway". & possibly using "stiffeners on the bottom.

The guy working, estimated about $250 in materials (epoxy), $170 w/ polyester resin.
