Adrenaline Trailers has completed their move into their new facility at 1061 North Lake Havasu Ave (Former Alco Marine building) and they are fully operational! The new facility offers up a lot of new opportunities and capabilities for Adrenaline, the first and most obvious being room to "stretch their legs" to so speak. They now have 6500 square feet under roof to Fabricate and repair even the largest of jobs, as well as a gated yard that has room for more then 60 trailers by my estimation.

Wayne has not wasted any time converting the old service shop into a full fledged trailer manufacturing facility. He took the old test tank, and created a false floor to roll trailers on top of it for a paint prep area. He purchased a 50 x 16 x 12 Spray Zone paint booth (one of the largest in Havasu), and a ton of new equipment including giant 6000.00 welders, and benders etc, and then he piped in enough 3 phase electricity to make the lights dim in Vegas when things are running full tilt. It's important to realize that while they are a trailer shop, they can fabricate anything! There is no limit to what they can cut, bend and weld. (Stainless, Aluminum, etc..)

To kind of run you through the new process of things. The fabrication of new trailers (or repairs on existing trailers) takes place inside the building. They now have enough room and employees to tackle several projects at one time, and the through put has tripled (at least) from the old facility to the new.

The main complaint from customers of all trailer shops is the quality of paint work that comes out of these facilities. That notion isn't lost with Adrenaline, and is something they wished to not only improve for themselves, but to try to raise the bar of what a trailer paint job should be. So we take our now fabricated or repaired trailer frame over to the paint prep area where it receives a thorough chemical bath. The chemicals remove oil, grease, and any other contaminants from the frame while at the same time actually etching the steel so that the primer adhere's. There's obvious benefits of doing this chemically because the liquids get into all the tiny spots that would be difficult to "rough up" the old fashion way. The chemicals now fall through the grate floor and into the old test tank where they are recovered with a sump pump, and then filtered to be ready for the next trailer.

After the chemical bath the trailer is wheeled on a dolly right around the corner to the new Spray Zone paint booth. For larger projects like the one Wayne can actually put three or more guys in the booth at one time spraying the trailer. This prevents blend lines, or one part of the trailer drying before the painter can get back to that area and lay down a second or third coat.

The facility is 100% up and running now, and they just finished this 47' Trailer for a 40' Doug Wright Cat that's local to Havasu. The results of their upgrades speak for themselves, and this red trailer sports one of the nicest paint jobs of any boat trailer that I have ever seen. Certainly the nicest paint job that I have ever seen come out of a trailer shop. What's important about that is smaller trailers are easier to paint, the fact that this one came out that nice and is 47' long is really a testament to their new capabilities and their drive to be one of the best in the industry.

While they have built several scratch built trailers for people over the years, they have primarily been known for repairs and refurbishing trailers to new. Adrenaline is making aggressive moves to now become the OEM trailer manufacturer for several high end custom boat manufacturers on the west coast, and I think you are going to start seeing the Adrenaline name under some very "prominent" boats by the beginning of summer.

Due to the fact that there was a ton of work to convert the facility into a full fledged fabrication and paint shop, unfortunately they missed their window to have a Christmas party. I have it on pretty good authority that they will be having an "Open House" / "After Christmas party" at some point either in late January or Early February.

Getting to know Wayne Monasmith -

Wayne started working at the very young age of 12 running back hoes and heavy equipment for a family construction business. During that time he worked side by side with family members learning how to repair and maintain all facets of heavy equipment. After Wayne graduated Highschool he went straight to work. For two years he was part of a crew that delivered and setup manufactured homes in Prescott Arizona. At the age of 19 he went to work for his grandfather in the family business delivering fuel. He laughs telling the story about the old delivery truck that leaked more fuel then it probably delivered, and looks back on those days fondly. He eventually got his chauffeur's license (that's what they called CDL's back then) and started driving heavy tankers (80,000 lbs) for approximately eight years. At the age of 27 is when he got into management and learned how to run the business end of things. Even though he was in management he never forgot his roots, and understood the importance of being intimate with your tools and equipment. He still goes out and turns a wrench with the guys, and subs out only the major repair jobs, a standing tradition that has lasted more then thirty years.

He started his own businesses with four gas trucks and grew that business to eighteen gas trucks in five years. They were more then a fuel delivery business, they actually owned and sold the fuel to commercial accounts. When the price of fuel spiked for almost 5.00 a gallon there was a considerable amount of liability (the dollar amounts of fuel being purchased and sold). In 2006 that liability was unfortunately realized when a contractor failed to pay a huge outstanding invoice due to the recession beginning. Wayne saw the writing on the wall and sold the business in 2007. He worked for the buyer for two years as the district manager, and to help oversee the transition. In 2009 he took two years off to be with his family, and in 2011 decided to move to Lake Havasu. He moved to town full time in March 2012 and bought Ron's Custom Detail, which he merged with Adrenaline detail. He then started doing trailer repairs and Frank and Wayne did their first trailer service in December 2012! In June 2014 they had purchased Enduro trailers and merged it with Adrenaline bringing on more employees, and capabilities.

Wayne has been an avid boater for years, with his most notable boat being the Orange and Grey F32 DCB with Ilmore 725's. That boat was actually sold to TBulger right here on RDP a few years back, and has since been sold again and gone back east. He works with his wife Lynn and his son Wayne (Jr.). He also has two daughters Kristy and Melissa with Five (soon to be six!) grandkids between them!
