My name is Brian Fetherolf. I began my career in the Marine Industry in
1974 working for family friend John Kaiser. I started B&D Marine in June
of 1990. B & D is a family run business with my son Dane, running the shop, with me overseeing both as well as hands on in the shop and office.

I was introduced to boating at the age of 7 when my parents purchased their first boat, a 16? Glasspar, and made their first trip to Lake Havasu in 1963. Every summer since, Lake Havasu has been the family summer recreation spot. Racing drag boats, Motocross, Dessert, and cars, has helped me develop the knowledge for building and setting up engines, boats, and drive systems.

In the late ?70?s and ?80?s Jets and V-drives were the majority. I built the jet pumps and set up race boats such as Don Damron?s ?The Devil? (BFJ), Bob Barron?s ?Split Decision? (BFJ), Eddie Morenz?s ?Blue Magic? (CJ circle racer), Chuck Collins? ?CC & Water? (KJ circle racer), all record holders, to name a few.

Today while still modifying, servicing, & repairing Jets and V-drives, we continue following the direction of the performance boating industry. B&D Marine is a Certified, Premier, Authorized Mercruiser Dealership,
maintaining a Master Technician rating as well. Becoming a Premier Mercruiser Dealer is an honor only given by Mercury to Dealerships that exhibit high standards, own specialized tools, and have a high customer and Service Rep rating. B&D Marine has been modifying and building all types of Bravo Drives since they were introduced in 1988. We have developed ?behind closed doors? modifications in the way they are assembled that allows them to live under extreme conditions. Our engine packages are designed to run on pump gas, have maximum torque and horsepower, and still be dock friendly.

I have followed the advancing technology of EFI as well with over 10 years of building calibrations and lap top tuning. The majority of our custom engine packages are multi port EFI with wide band control. EFI allows more aggressive camshaft profiles while maintaining a dock friendly idle and better fuel economy.

We have a full machine shop, including MIG and TIG welding, for custom fabricating and it is also very helpful when normal hand tools aren?t enough for certain repairs. I have always had a passion for modifying and making something better. One project was to design and build a dual throttle body conversion for the Mercury 500 EFI and 525 intake manifold top 5 years ago that has allowed huge HP increases with the stock lower intake half. The latest was Dart tunnel rams intakes converted to EFI.

I look forward to our relationship with RDP and its followers. I think this will be a great Technical forum with a wide range of help for the RDP community.
