  1. 2016 RDP Desert Storm After Party is ON!!!

I know a lot of you (and Desert Storm sponsors) have been asking about the After Party this year, so it's time to make the announcement. THE 2016 DESERT STORM AFTER PARTY IS ON!! Before I get into the whens, where's, what changed etc.. I want to take a second here to recognize all the sponsors that are truly responsible for making this happen.

My Wife Stacy, she has gone out of her way this year to make this party truly special. There's a lot of things we are doing different...
  2. 2017 HTM Float Party - Parade & Pirates!

If you were lucky enough to be on the lake this weekend, you might have noticed an unusual amount of HTM's on the water. This weekend was the 2017 High Torque Marine "Legends Float Party!"

    View attachment 600116

The HTM get together started in Thompson bay where the infamous 306 dubbed "Team Huntress" was anchored out in front of the Naked Turtle. Other HTM owners were instructed to meet there and at 11:30 sharp they would be doing a parade through the channel, and then head up...

Motorsports Enthusiasts to See It All! November 19-20, 2016

Lake Havasu has deservedly earned a reputation as a mecca for outdoor motorsports enthusiasts. Because of the weather and the immediate proximity to both water and desert, locals rotate between boats, off-roading and RVing with the change of each season.

Five years ago, the "Sand - Water - RV Expo" first appeared on the Havasu scene at Lake Havasu...
  4. A day late, but not a dollar short!

Well I missed my Tuesday / Newsday Sponsor appreciation day yesterday, so I figured I'd put it up today!

First a quick update to some new advertisers that have just come on board! We got a new insurance agency on board "Stern Insurance!" Brad Stern is a fellow boater, that has a 25 Daytona with a procharged 502, and a 21 Lavey Outboard that they ski race. On a side note we will be doing a write up on his 21 Lavey as it gets closer to being completed, it's a pretty cool story...
  5. Absolutely Killing It

View attachment 597391 Pulling up to the back of Absolute Speed and Marine's shop in Lake Havasu, the first thing you'll notice is the truly awe-inspiring amount of boats they're working on at any given time. Their bays are crammed full of customers' boats, and their gated parking contains barely enough room to maneuver them in and around the lot. Then there's the alley behind the shop, which typically contains ten or more boats...
  6. An Open Invitation to the MFG's we never hear from

View attachment 597881 I spend a lot more time cruising the past and current content then most anyone on the site for obvious reasons. I'm always trying to keep it somewhat fresh, and trying to make sure we aren't regurgitating the same articles over and over. The one thing that became painstakingly apparent to me the other night is it seems like all we are covering are 200,000+ 21-24, 125,000+ deck boats, and on occasion the 1,000,000+ dollar Cat?...

Life jacket exchange events kick off Saturday, May 19!

10-year anniversary of life jacket exchanges starts with events statewide

Have an old, worn out life jacket? Swap it for a new one. 2018 marks the 10-year anniversary of the Arizona Game and Fish Department’s (AZGFD) life jacket exchange program, and it’s starting with a statewide push to ensure everyone in Arizona is safe on the water this summer.

Last year AZGFD swapped more than 800 old life...
  9. B&D Marine - Engines, Drives, Rigging!

View attachment 597131 My name is Brian Fetherolf. I began my career in the Marine Industry in
1974 working for family friend John Kaiser. I started B&D Marine in June
of 1990. B & D is a family run business with my son Dane, running the shop, with me overseeing both as well as hands on in the shop and office.

I was introduced to boating at the age of 7 when my parents purchased their first boat, a 16? Glasspar, and made their first trip to Lake Havasu in 1963. Every summer since, Lake...
  10. Barron Boats Press Release! - "RDP Exclusive!"

An Industry Familiar Name Readies for the Release of a New Line-Up of Deckboats and Center Consoles

Sometimes when one door closes, another one opens. And so it is with Jerry Barron, son of now deceased southern California boat building icon, Nick Barron of Hallett Boats.

    View attachment 627061

After more than four decades in the boating industry, Jerry Barron has taken the leap into boat manufacturing for himself...

To Jerry Barron, it seems like an eternity. That’s the way nearly all built-from-scratch new boats
seem to go, never as expeditiously as initially planned or hoped. And making the challenge
even larger is the fact that Barron Boats didn’t even exist ten months ago.

(Exterior styling is definitely original. Modern with clean contours accentuated with
    appropriate gelcoat graphics.)
