It was thirteen months ago at the Desert Storm street fair, that the entire Lucas Team made a very big splash introducing their "Marine Line" of Oil products. The heart of the company chemist Mark N. was in attendance, Brian S, and even the founder Forrest Lucas came out to the West Coast meccas of boating "Havasu."

For months Brian and I planned every detail of the street fair, from random swag we were going to hand out (7,000 koozies, shirts, crokies) and his genius idea of "Lucas Alley" which was a culmination of booths on both sides of the street that are all part of "Team Lucas" to help brand and introduce the new marine line.

The whole thing came off exactly like we had envisioned and I can't imagine that one person managed to walk through Lucas alley not in amazement of the sheer hardware, or coming away with some education of the new products from the teams of guys that manned the booths.

The journey to Havasu was dual purpose, while introducing products to the populace is a primary goal, forging relationships and working with OEM's to provide products that work for their applications is equally important. That afternoon introductions were made between Brian S, and Forrest Lucas of Lucas Oil products to Jessica and Ian H. from Ilmore marine. After thirteen months of work I am proud to announce that Lucas Oil is now the "Factory Fill" for Ilmor Marine's performance line!

Paul Ray, President of Ilmor Engineering had this to say :

"The Ilmor High Performance Marine MV8-570 engine is a ground breaking powerplant. Making big power out of a small-block naturally aspirated engine for marine use requires a unique approach to durability development. During the testing phase we identified several lubrication issues that required further research.

Lucas Oil learned of our challenges and worked closely with us to create a dedicated blend of oil that met our needs and allowed the MV8-570 to pass our rigid performance and durability standards.

As a competitive motorsport engineering company, we are accustomed to using the highest quality lubricants in our race engines. As a recreational marine company, we are sensitive to balancing performance with budget and availability. Lucas Oil's blend, initially for the MV8-570, and now the MV10 engine line, provides the optimal performance and protection for our engines, and is easy for our dealers and customers to acquire for maintenance.

In summary, Lucas Oil has become more than a supplier throughout this past year's development. They are a responsive and conscientious partner to Ilmor, and we are excited

to offer their blend in all of our high performance marine engine products."

In talking with Brian S. from Lucas Oil they are very excited about the new partnership, and growing the relationship into further Ilmor product lines. Both technical directors (Mark N of Lucas and Alan T of Ilmor) worked together hand in hand to deliver an oil and an engine package that are symbiotic. This is not a relationship that was formed on a golf course over politics and a handshake, but rather after countless hours of Dyno Time and tweaking of formulas to end up with what he describes it as simply "The Magic Bullet." By working together as chemists and engineers they were able to develop a custom blend that delivers increased Oil Pressure, More Horse Power, and better longevity and protection of the Ilmor product line.

I believe this is truly a great thing for the marine industry, and sets a precedent into the future for Engine Manufacturers to work with Oil manufacturers to deliver better products to the consumers.
