Justin Humphreys is a long time supporter of not only RDP, but all of our events that we have had over the last half a decade. If you have had a beer at the RDP booth at just about any event and it was a Coors product it likely came from him, and with a screen name "BeerMaker" it's not hard to understand how.
Recently he has moved on from making beer (don't worry guys we're still good) and has decided to start another career with further room for advancement down the road, along side his career changes he has decided to take his passion for the river and the lifestyle to the next level. Justin has started a boating lifestyle clothing company called "Positive Trim."
Justin is no stranger to making apparel and all of what that entails as he had done some smaller urban clothing brands when he was younger. What started as making a few "Trim Down for what Shirts" to give away for friends at the beginning of the summer quickly became a decision and an opportunity to chase the dream. Justin made the decision to go big instead of go home, and hired graphic artists to create a variety of designs, and screen printers to begin making all of the inventory it takes to have options in terms of colors and sizes. Speaking from experience in that department I can tell you it's a costly adventure to jump into and not one for the weak of heart.
The name Positive Trim obviously refers to raising the trim to get more speed out of the boat, and is a throw back to the old adages like "When in Doubt Trim it out." If you know Justin it's easy to see there's a lot more depth to to the name then just that. It has to do with people making a positive impact in each others lives while out on the water, even if they are complete strangers. That could be anything from towing a broken down boat, to complimenting a new boaters ride at the local sandbar and everything in between.
