Here is one I came across-

Circa 1992 at Ventura Raceway on my 1992 KX250. Forget about an aluminum bike stand I didn't have money for that, I was using the old milk create instead. I was saving my money for bike parts and Keystone Light. I was running the Maxima 927 in this baby because I used to love how it smelled in my bike but this stuff was tough to clean out of the exhaust ports when redoing top ends. Also check out the ?Quick Strap? goggle strap- arguably one of the gayest things created. Also check out the JT ALS2 Helmet (garbage by the way, these were known to crack by the piece that goes in front of your mouth and this one did. Don?t kid yourself (you can?t see them) but I had a pair of the JT Racing Teal Blue ?Bad Bone? pants and let?s not forget about the Answer Racing Chest Protector- So solid back in the day!

Hey Pink Taco,
Thats too funny I was racing Speedworld & Eloy in 99 & 2000 on my 99 YZ400F,,then hung it up in Dec 2000, got back into again in Jan 2011 on another YZ450F,still racing today, you racing AMX or AZOT motocross by any chance??

I don't do a lot of racing anymore... AMX got a little ridiculous with all the whining and infighting, so I pretty much just hit up practices at Canyon and Speedworld for fun. If you see me out there come say hi :thumbsup

This makes me tick ).jpg

hey pink taco, just curious why you switched from 78 to 178 after your lay up?
Balls deep your vids are hallarious! were you out cherrypicking or whats the dealio? your ass was only off the seat like 3 - 4 times and you passed everyone in sight?

I actually went to 178 before the World Mini GP in 2000 because 78 was taken....It turned out a cool number because my Dad served in the 178th Assult Support Helicopter Company in Viet Nam. :thumbsup

bad ass! I bought my WR450F from Walts Motorsports in Havasu back in 2004. Modded the hell out of the ignition mapping, fmf pipe, rejet, cam you name it. Still own it and ride it often. It's a rocket ship!

The WR450 was one of the funnest bikes I've ever owned.... I beat the hell out of it on the trails in Prescott and it never missed a beat :D

Great thread Tom! Love the old school photos all the comments by everyone :thumbsup
My bike has been sitting in pieces in my garage for years waiting for me to put it back together, one of those "time and money" things I guess :grumble:

On a side note, Daren and I spent two days shooting the Elsinore GP this past weekend and came away with a lot of nice photos to be posted soon!

Put that thing together and get after it! No excuses! :D

Damn Taco You fo real!!!:thumbsup:thumbsup:thumbsup

I'm almost embarrased to post in here but what the hell. :)

My first bike was an 81 IT 425. I had to wait until i was 18 to get a bike because my dad had a no dirtbike rule at our house. I learned to ride at 13 because a friend offered to teach me but getting permission from Dad was difficult.

These pics are from the last few years because I don't really have any aside from above before about 2003.

Did the 24 Hours of Glen Helen in 2008... Absolutely epic time! Got to race for 24 hours straight with my two best riding buddies, Damian and my cousin Arlyn. I'd do this again in a heartbeat :thumbsup

Great pics, I wish I had a bunch of old pics but unfortunately, we didn't take many pics when I was younger. I think I have 1 or 2 around that I can scan in. I'll see what I can find.:thumbsup

I was thinking the same thing. I have a few but man I wish we were more diligent about taking pictures of all the cool stuff we used to do. Back then, it was kind of a hassle to lug a big camera around..

Mojave Trail a few years back.

hey that one photo looks like Soda Dry Lake bed. Back in the day a few of my friends sank bad bad in that mud up to their handlebars in that mud. Nasty shit. Two guys hit the soft area and went right over the bars as the were covered in this stinky ass mud. I'll never for get that. We used to go camp at Rasor Road all the time there at the trees then at night ride our bikes down to the railroad tracks, have a fire, drink beer and hang out and watch these massive 80mph freight trains go by at night. That was so much fun! I miss that place and hope to get back there again someday soon.

Loved dirtbikes all my life... Pops still has my first Indian hanging up in the garage. Had a bad (enough) crash about 8 years ago, that got me to hang it up. Now it's all about my 3 year old & watching him take it up. Picked up a Husky TC450 that I follow him around on, suspension sucks but doesn't matter since it never gets out of 1st & 2nd gear :D. Still wrench on bikes a ton for buddies, etc. Been taking my little guy up to an OHV area in Cottonwood that I used to ride when going to NAU.

How is Rasor Road? I have seen pix, heard about it but never camped/rode there. Is it worth the drive?

Depends on what kind of riding you want to do. Rasor isnt that great IMO. I went once and probably wont go back. There is some cool stuff but the overall area isnt big. Cool little sand dunes, and decent weather overall, but its not as big as Ocotillo, Johnson Valley, California City, etc.

Don't have many photos, but I did get a few from this last weekend. I rode in the Valley Over the Hill Gang National in Tulare. The OTHG races are alot of fun, they get a great group of guys out there.
Hey Ballsdeep, does the bike look familiar?:D It should be easy to recognize, it's going alot slower. SSY_4944.jpg SSY_4954.jpg

44 is a hell of an age to start racing. Still throw the white plastics on there every once in a while too. It did get a little "freshening up" last year. It's a great bike, the guys I race with keep trying to swipe the wheels for the hubs. 450.jpg

Its fun, especially when he starts begging to go to the track.

That's legit! He'll never forget these times. Some of my fondest memories growing up include my Dad and dirt bikes. :thumbsup
