I think all boats are different, but I think it's more of hull speed than RPM when the boat rolls on plane. I try to take it easy on my drives, so I usually don't go over 3000 RPM when getting on plane unless I need to get on plane quickly. My boat seems to get on plane at around 25 MPH or so.

same here ... easy on it
usually can plane @ 2500 25-30 mph little bow rise . little longer with full load
if you have a custom prop i would think longer on bow rise and more rpm to get her going

I'm about 3000rpms. Two adults, two kids, 28pitch, 720hp. It rolls over pretty good here, if I hang out a little longer I can lower the rpms:)

I pin mine and right as it starts to get on top, it cavitates just enough to spool up to about 6k, right then it hooks up and takes off like a raped ape.

It's one of my favorite things about driving my boat :D

A slight glance at the pedal (with one eye closed) and I'm on plane.... :D

It won't come off plane until she's idling with a surge. Planing is a non issue really...:rolleyes

Here's an idea of what I'm talking about.

I'm a plaster not an English teacher. Lol

BTW, It's plasterer.....
About 3000 to 3200 and it rolls right over, when it's cold in the morning, I try to keep it below 3 grand till it the oil warms up a bit and the oil pressure comes down a bit.

Two people on board, heavy 77 Hallett Mini Cruiser, 6,000 RPMs coming out of the hole. It comes on plane real quick, bring the diverter up to get the best set then back off and cruise at 4800 RPM at 70+ mph as long as I want. Oh yea it's a JET Boat.. Fuck Gas Mileage.

Why am I replying to this post, I know I'm going to get slammed.
