Save you money and keep it where it is. It's a good looking truck now. Any lower is a pain in the ass when you have a steep drive, dip, or have to go off pavement to stage your bikes. I had a buddy go that low and regretted it. Congrats!

Also, I had a 96 2500 4x4 with the
350 vortec. Had endless fuel injection issues with it. They are very temperamental. Use fuel from a quality location and keep up on your injector cleaning. I can't recall if mine had a serviceable fuel filter or it it was built into the tank but if it does, keep it clean. Hope yours treats you better.

I have become a fan of autocross recently and have seen this truck compete a few times...all I can say is wow...this thing hauls ass and handles awesome!

I saw it run at Good Guys Scottsdale last year. It gets with it for sure. I'll see if I can find my pics if it

Yes sir! Ride tech air suspension on all four corners and a monster notch in the back. It damn near lays frame. The front A-arms bottom out first.

Picked this little fella up last week. It was an old mans garage queen, tan leather, 112k on the clock, never been hit, and super clean. Threw a new set of centerline wheels on her, fresh shocks and we are ready to go!


... Oh yeah, not bad for a $3500 investment!

Djunkie - Is that teal-blue truck in the back a '65? If so....was it a factory air truck with a BBC under the hood? If so....its in my back yard right now!

That's my uncles truck. I think its a 64 big window step side short bed with a 383

My friend bought a '65 short bed fleetside, big window, factory air truck. Im putting an LS in it for him right now. Saw the front of that truck in the picture and looks identical to his

That's going to be cool....post a build thread. I think I'm going to tear my 69 down in about a year for L's power and the full tci coilover conversion

What does a swap like this cost, ballpark? With a low mile LS...

Like anything, the options are many and the costs vary But you can get a decent complete motor / trans stock setup for around $1500 (5.3, 4l60) and then go from there. 6.0's are a little more expensive, but come with higher flowing heads and more displacement. New stand alone harnesses are around $500, computers are $80 if your motor didn't come with one. Then, you can get into cam swaps, etc that really pump them up. PM me for more info and specifics, I'll be gone this weekend but I can give u the full rundown and some ideas.

Dont mind the wiring, its running on my test stand so its just temporary...

Did an altitude adjustment on my buddy's '76 C10 this weekend. Turned out pretty damn clean. Its a 1976 C10 factory big block truck too. Pretty rare I believe.

I ordered this deal with 3.73's specifically to turbocharge it for a Super Chevy Magazine deal. The original (stock motor) went 221,000 miles, until the timing chain (plastic covered top gear) started sawing through the cover durring shut downs. Built a 'nice' long block for it back in 1989 and drove her up until a few years ago. 497,000 + miles and now I'm going to go with 'smaller chamber heads', EFI and water to water intercooling, this time around. After seeing a few photos here, it's tought to deside between "chrome or no chrome" around the body.

Now that's a workhorse! :thumbup:

Keep an eye on craigslist. Sometimes you can find a diamond in the rough...He picked this up a year ago for $3K and it only needed a fuel pump

Factory big block. Nice. Too bad it isn't a '75.

A '75 would've been awesome but since it's classified as a heavy duty truck it's only got a stove pipe and egr valve for smog equipment. Not to much shit on it. We took out the turbo 400 and installed a 700R4 and she just cruises on the freeways. Gets decent gas mileage too...for a big block

`87 crewcab. Looks like shit, but it's a clean truck with only 110k and all stock,,, for now. :D Typical GM paint flake all over. Still using it as a work truck, but accumulating parts as I can. Hoping to strip it for paint this winter.

I have a set if Alcoa's for it, new bumpers including a suburban rear, Gear Vendors or and some interior stuff. I need to be able to take it down and get it back together w/out any other projects getting in the way or else it will never get done. Hopefully next year, just gotta decide whether o bag it or static drop it......

Same story here and they take up a LOT of room when they come apart. Mine will get a hot rod Cummins and a static drop. Air ride is sick, but I plan on towing my boat and kids race cars and do not want issues while on the road. Lowered more than I can remember back in the 80's and 90's, but never built one for myself. Found this one local for $2000 right after the trans blew on my work truck. once my wife has her new ride I can start on it.
