I'll have a build thread, as soon as I get her home. But first, a shakedown run in Havasu.

Anyone needing cages, bumpers, roofs, etc. built for their stuff, we custom fab anything at our shop in Temecula. Our specialty is bagging cars and custom hot rod work, but we build just about anything.

Going thru the drive thru in the rzr was pretty cool. Where is everyone buying their light bars?

Packed in ready for cal city.

It was A LOT tighter than I thought. Took every bit of the 12' 6" of the garage. Not sure I'll be able to fit it in with bigger tires or paddles[emoji107]🏻

looks great MIke, congrats. Have Chris at Devious hook you up with some Rigid Industry lights, a good price on awesome lights and order thru Oregon without sales tax:D. I went with a special order 38" for roof, 10" for front bumper and few sets of the D2's for inside wheel wells and C post.

Who :D

Congrats Hammer, enjoy it. I hear they rip in Havasu...... :D

John what year is that all red one? A 15? I like that cage and such. I was looking at the Desert Works stuff, my buddy Glenn (X factor) just had one built by them and it is amazing. I'll do cage, roof, doors, belts for sure right away.

Tons of light bar companies - rigid, outlaw, generic...

I think rigid is still likely the preferred brand.

Thanks (this is all your fault by the way):DDid you need that many lights? I was just thinking a roof light bar would be enough.

Thanks I will. I noticed you can buy lowers pieces for the factory doors. Seems it would make financial sense to purchase the lowers instead of fabricating all new doors. I will however build a cage eventually. Harnesses will happen right away.

So I made the descion to keep factory cage. Added some simple bolt ons and I think it has been great for what I do.

1 rigid 30 on roof is more than enough over stock.

I did cage, doors and harnesses before I ever put it in the dirt then seats after the first trip. I didn't trust the stock belts. I did Desert Works cage and doors I like them, If I was to do it again I would check out Magnum Offroad or Madigan Motorsports.

I think you will be very surprised at how much those lower door sections cost. Don't waste your hard earned dough.
You need to check out your options for sure, Scott at desert works has a nice door, Chris at LaveyCraft is doing some cool stuff and obviously you know I am happy with my TMW doors. Don't settle and then have to do it again. Enjoy it stock for a while, there is nothing you have to do. That rzr is ready to go have fun.

Just a reminder about wrist restraints, Veedrivens girl has racked up 3 million in medical bills since her RZR accident where she almost lost her hand.

I also highly recommend a quality cage. My SDR cage, harness and helmet saved my life. Not all cages are built the same so spend a few extra dollars for one that works.

Yeah, it's a 15. We're designing our own doors now too. We do the cages however you want. You get to design it your way.

The Polaris solution is a joke.

Not only are the polaris lowers expensive - they require the addition of a secondary bracket to hold them in place which adds more weight and parts to the door

Notice the inside of this door - it doesn't have or need the lower bracket.

I picked up a 16 xp4 1000 the Saturday before Thanksgiving. We went out three times over the week. Loved it. I did the full aluminum doors that Polaris offers now. They were $900, I figure I will sell them for $600 when I go aftermarket. I really wanted doors for the week as I have a 3 year old and a 6 year old in the back seat. Has anyone done window nets? I am concerned about by my wife and daughters hands.

I saw it in the driveway. Very nice congrats. I came down after I saw it and you guys had left. I rented one Friday and now I'm on the hunt for one.
Did you go out by the house?

Thank you! Man it's to bad I missed you. Yes we go right by the house, there are two easy ways to go from your house. It takes me 4 minutes to be in the dirt, if that. You can then go pretty far out and around to Standard wash. If your considering new Call Jack there at AZ West, tell him to give my deal :D. They were simple and a good price. Call me if you have any questions or where I go from the house. If you get one let me know, we can definitely ride one weekend together.

Before you do anything do a cage and then seats with 5 point harnesses then doors. The stock cage is a pile to say the least.

A friend found out the hard way, his kid took out the SXS tipped it on its side and the factory cage cracked. I will be doing exactly that, cage seats and harnesses. [emoji106]🏻

How do those work? Does the Velcro end hook on the steering column and you put your hands through the loops at the other end?

Yes for the driver. For back seat passengers sometimes they just use 1 for the outer arm. I talked to another friend this weekend in Parker whose friend lost his fingers in a slow RZR roll over instinctively grabbing for something which ended up being the cage. My first offroad toy was a Honda odyssey that I believe they came from the factory with them and always wore them. Like a harness a little extra work but safety factor is greatly increased.

Hammer - use it.

similar story here.

As Nic said - These came stock on the FL 400 and back in the day my buddy and I took 2 gals out to the desert bar.

We took turns driving out and his gal just flat refused to put her hand through the loop despite us telling her that if she flipped her instinct would be to put her arm out. wed start her out with hand through the loop and she take them out of it within 200 feet of leaving our sight.

At the bar we gave her a hard time about it and she just blew us off.

After a few rounds I went to take a whizz and when I got back the gals swiped the keys form under my moron buddy - and there they were doing donuts in the parking lot and to no ones surprise she ended up on the roof - didn't put her hand through the hoop and ended up loosing her right middle finger completely crushed it between the cage and a rock - when she put her hand out to stop the rollover.

- rushed her to the emergency room in parker then my buddy flew her phoenix to a specialist to try to save the finger.

She WAS a court reporter - then came the attorneys that tried to sue me for a lifetime of lost of income and damages because it was my car several K in fees later I got off, but the moral to the story is don't let drunk chicks drive your rzr and just use the safety loop.

Hope everyone had a great thanksgiving!

UD
