The "Christmas Tree" conversation came up in the GRADS household tonight. Mrs. Daytona is going to be out of town for 3 weeks in December. I don't see any point in getting a tree if it's just me. She says she wants one. I said fine, I'll get a flocked one because that's what I grew up with. She says flocked trees are tacky. Thoughts?

My family has been in the Christmas tree business for close to 50 years. Done my share of flocking trees. (Not fucking you freaks lol). If done right they look great. Too much and yes it's tacky.

Flocked trees have to go in the trash and can't be recycled.
They smell fake.
They look fake.
It would never snow inside your house so why fake it?

Growing up, we had all sorts of trees.

Real, flocked and fake.

I really liked the real trees for the nice 'pine' smell. Although Robin & I don't get trees, we will get a wreath of pine... still like the smell

I always wanted to get a flocked tree as a kid. My Dad said "Flock No"....it will make a giant mess.

My mom still has this, I think gave to my older sister recently.
