We are back in business! Once the back end of the Bronkzilla is done then we start building the fuel tank. I did find a possible new power plant. Eco Boost 3.5 twin turbo 415HP and 450 lbs of torque. I'm thinking the smaller lighter motor will save on weight and allow us to push the motor forward giving the rear more travel

What transmission does that use? 4R100/E4OD? A 4L80E is wayyyy shorter.

Nevermind... that 10 speed looks short although I don't have actual measurements.

It comes with an adapter plate to a turbo 400. Is all I need is a transfer case to keep the 4X4

You should have plenty of driveline length with a Turbo400 and 205 with the short adapter. I think it gains over 10" compared to the E4OD and 1356.

Are your links long? Trying to reduce plunge on the driveline?

Very nice project! The triangulation around the rear third seat is awesome!

I have added a lot to this project now. The 3.5 EcoBoost will be mates up to a E4OD transmission and a Atlas Transfer case for the 4x4. Since I'm getting all that good stuff I may as well start on the interior. I will be sending it to CRB for a new aluminum dash and the motor management will be by Life Racing. I want a clean setup and Life Racing will get rid of all the switches and breakers normally found in a Prerunner, I am hoping for a Thanksgiving completion

I was holding off until I had more good pics. We are wrapping up the detail projects while we wait for the transmission to fit the motor package

Sorry I know you just got a bunch of questions, but where did you get the 3.5L and a stand alone if you don't mind sharing?
Thing looks amazing...

Turnkey Engine Supply in Oceanside. They have a couple more on the shelf they said.

It comes with a Ford Racing tuned ECU. Picking the Eco Boost has added a bit of time onto this project but looking at the stock motor pulling 500 HP with a life Racing ECU, I knew I made the right choice

Freakin awesome.

Looks like aftermarket turbos are going on it? I know the stock ones are pretty small.

I've been waiting for updates on this bad boy and they were worth the weight! ;) It looks beautiful!

I may be wrong but I think you can mate a 4L80E up to the 4.8/5.3/5.7/6.0 LS motors without a lot of trouble. I don't see why the 3.5 would be much different, other than overalls size. Pretty cool to see though!
