Bad ass. Don't see too many lowered trucks anymore. Seems everyone now lifts them.

Its the only way to roll imo.
Heres a friends old setup. Rode like shit but the looks we got made it definitely worth riding in lol

Quite a heated discussion on them some years back on HB when lowering duallys was the BFD.
I think RD was caught in the middle of it all if I recall.
I like the looks of it but our dually is the perfect tow vehicle bone stock. When I mess with success I put my dick in a rusty vise.

Lowered is a regional thing.

In the Southeast... The NASCAR Truck series is enormously popular and lowered 2WD is very common.

Had no idea. I am seeing a lot of 2 door standard cab short bed chevys lowered out here on so cal. Love the look, sporty. If i was a young single guy, I'd have one.

Lowered vehicle look cool, but limit themselves in many drive ways and business entrances and sharp rises at ramps that cause them to drag bottom.

Cool often comes at a cost.

Unfortunately you can't do that on SoCal freeways. Hit a pothole and trash your entire setup.

Regular cabs have always been hot...basically a sports car with a bed with some engine mods and a lowering kit.

I have owned a couple last one was a 03. New deal moved gmc with a blower would. E a good time. Surprise a lot of camaros and mustangs.

I've been kicking around the idea of a getting a lowered single cab just to run around town in seeing customers.

The main reason is tire stagger. We have been building narrow front, wide rear wheels for the trucks we lower, but the tire sizes have to stay very close to the same diameter or the ECU and ABS get very upset. When I was at a facility with an in house Chevrolet Race Shop engineer, we had the capability of programming the stagger in, but that was in the days of removable EPROM's. i don't think there is a way to do it now without a factory connection.

Truth.
Me and my buddies all had lowered road race cars and getting into many driveways or just a dip in the road was a chore. Always at a 45* angle or we'd be toast.
Never forget the spectacle we made of ourselves putting our cars onto the Balboa Island ferry:rotflmao: Holy crap.:p We had to lift each car up by the fenders get 'em on. We wanted to be noticed, and boy did we accomplish that:D:D:D

Since 1979 ..........

It's got rear airbags, and has had a 10 1/2' cabover Dolphin camper and an 'over cab' boat hull rack on it, most of its 'lowered working life' .

It now just 'sits on the side driveway', waiting for the new 'intercooler and EFI' for it's turbo BB .

From brand new to rat rod in one owner .............

This one was mine. 97 with a 2/4 drop on it. Made it look good and still functional. Pulled everything with it and never had to worry about getting high centered. I still see it every once in awhile. Makes me sad....

c2500 supercharged and tow wheels when needed. Great freeway flyer... MPG around 20 when not on the throttle hard.

Just recently missed a deal on a 99 crew cab short bed. I'll find one someday. Yours is killer. How many miles?

I never understood why people lowered a 4wd truck, but as I get older I understand now. If you don't want to slam it way down like I have always done or wanted done 4wd just has more uses. I see that it helps at the boat launch. I think the only time my friends truck has ever been put into 4wd was at the boat launch. Alot of the new trucks use the exact same components on the 2wd and 4wd so I can now see possibly buying a 4wd or an all wheel drive vehicle next. I am just not into lifted trucks but I admit that they have grown on me over the years too.

I get the look but when you get to over 30 ft and bigger some of the boats I've owned 35 or bigger no lowered truck is going to be doing that job for me. Love that new Ford slammed but really with like 15 to 18k in a race stacker or even my dump trailer, no way and 4x4 is must. All depends on application. But I do love the look.
