Well just bought the boat and have tons of thoughts of doing more to the boat. So figured why not start my own thread and keep updating slowly as well use this one thread to ask questions in regards to help with my plans.

First thing I did was go through whole boat and go through every nut bolt and screw and get them all tightened up and replaced missing as well stripped screws and bolts.
Then I removed the port side fiberglass pod as the cubbyhole/glove box wasn't sealed. While it was out I went through and cleaned up a lot of wiring as well replaced a bunch that were butt connected together. As well shampooed the carpet in the main section of the passengers compartment
As well cleaned up the port side motor compartment where the carpet was lifted off the hull and there were wires that as well were butt connected and excessively long then used cloth wire loom

While going through the boat with prior owner Caydens Cat, he told me a story about losing a knife that was very important to him as it was a gift for being a best man in his buddies wedding, well I really need to get it shipped to him, 😳 I've been slacking.

The AZ registration on the boat is 5150 BN
Well we all know 5150= Crazy
It's really my wife Katherine's boat
And the boat is a Cat
So was easy to come up with the name of Crazy Kat for the boat, we have an appointment with Pinstriping by Chris to take my half a$$ photoshop and make it reality on the boat can't wait.

Next I'd really like to pull all the hardware off and have it coated blue, may wait till this fall but who knows.

Also would like to do a rear transom mounted trim switch as well a foot wash on the front of the boat.

beware, if you are planning on running the JL unit with a samsung galaxy 7, it doesn't work via Bluetooth.

Since last time I took it out, (had only seen 67 on gps), I did new plugs, old were totally toast, new fuel filter as well removed the inversion plate from manifolds and got a top speed of 75.6 mph pretty stoked with that # with a 26p and 496ho

Also added the transom trim switch this evening

Not sure what 83$ cove is, we launched t Jack Smith went down about half way to Pirate's and hung out on a beach on AZ side for about two hours, then went to Pirates for about an hour and a half then back to the trailer, forgot extra diapers for the boi 😜 so had to go......
however someone got a good kick out of the wife and I running up the beach and me tripping and eating sand hard!!!

So dropped boat off at Ron's on Tuesday before I left for work, went and got today, they did the JL mm100s-be and wired remote as well tuned the amps etc had wanted to do all new speakers next but idk now as it rips for what we need want. They were awesome to deal with had heard lots of good and a little bad but my experience was awesome all around. They did as we talked and were actually done before they thought they would be!

Shannon @ Livorsi is amazing and beyond. I called her this morning and said "I love, oh wait I like it a lot, but bet if I could see what it'd look like completely assembled I'd love it!!" She said she'd never done the photoshop on anything but just the face but give her a few hours. Just got off and found this amazing pic in my email 🤤💦🤤💦🤤💦🤤

Headless, they will have blue or white backlights I want blue but kinda sorta curious if the aquapopo would fight that and being the blue lights in the small gauges are soldered in I'm kinda worried but most likely will go blue anyway lol.

What GPS are you using, and did it come with marine maps, that is my next upgrade to the boat.

That is a garmin gpsmap 5208. Its a marine gps. Has all sorts of capabilities i havent even started to explore yet. It utilizes a nmea2000 backbone, which can be expanded to utilize fuel level, fuel use rate, a transducer can be added, radar, etc. WAY overkill for what i need around here, lol.. i wanted a gps speedo, and the price was right for this unit. It cost me 150 for the map card, that covers all inland a coastal waters of the u.s.

Shows places to get fuel, food, lodging, marina services, etc.

So I get real real bored at the other side of the road for work, was playing on Mercury Racing's website and came across a Merc key and was just dead set to figure how to get one.
Did more research and it's the key for the DTS/Smartcraft system. Kept looking and couldn't find where any boat that wasn't equipped with that system had this ignition, all have the cheesy universal ignition switch. Called and spoke to the tech line at MR and they said they didn't know if anyone doing this to a non Smartcraft boat but figured it was possible but would require rewiring the plug etc as well would have to figure out how to cut the hole from 3/4" to 2 1/8" so my wheels are spinning but I know I can do it.

So ordered everything and then time to bench test so cut the plug off and went at it figured out how stupid simple it'd really be, but now gotta figure out how to make that hole go from 3/4" to 2 1/8"!
So took a unibit and drilled the 3/4" out to 1 3/8", then took a 1 3/8" hole saw and used it as a pilot but for my 2 1/8" but once hole was cut was just time to get behind the helm and get to wiring and wha lha it works.

Well the start of the winter upgrades have begun. Took out the side pods and brought to Pedro @ Saleen he?s going to rebuild the speaker pods to be a little bit bigger to fit the 7.7 components vs the 6.5?s that were in there as well fix a few of the chips and reshape the drivers side arm rest a little so it?s not as pointed where I?ve beat my elbow a few times. Should have back in a week or two.

Well the amps where under the hatch so as I?m putting new in and only using one, I started by removing the old amps, that was the reason that the port battery was positioned in a different spot then the starboard. So while pulling the amps I decided to move the batteries so now rather then being located in off spots and long ways I moved both to equal spots but mounted short ways looks way better imho as well should keep the weight more equal as well slightly forward of how they where before.

I had decided I was going to place the amp on the forward bulkhead of the midcuddy, but A: with having young kids and B: having ocd of wiring and things being exposed I decided to build a false wall that would basically hide everything with exception the face of the amp.
So on to making a template used about 25 different small pieces of cardboard taped together then transferred them to a single sheet of card board. Then I went and transferred to a piece of 1/2 plywood after I fit it in there and was happy I cut some board to 1.25 to space it out basically sat at 1.75 total as the amp is 2? thick. Then I was able to get a piece of the matching carpet that was/is in the boat and covered the rack and am totally stoked with the results as the carpet basically lays flush with the face of the amp.

Next to start laying out all the wiring tomorrow then hopefully get my side pods back from Saleen this week or early next week. Then decide if I?ll pull my balls out and cut the holes in the bow or take boat to Speed Of Sound to have him cut the holes for the 8.8?s in the bow.
