Why do you have to go and try to class the place up for? I like it the way it is.

Been working as much as I can in between everything else.

Here’s the backside of the vessel view. And on the bulkhead the two modules to make it work.

IMG_9534.JPG

It’s clean and plug and play to a certain extent. You can’t really control the size of the components or the length of the cables. They pretty much are what they are and go where they fit. Different from traditional analog stuff where you can make and control the size and length of everything. It’s a struggle to make it look neat.

The foot throttle. Key. Vessel view. Hand throttle. All have plugs that have to reach them, and have to return to different main cables and modules. Not too mention I’ve never rigged a dts system without control cables or a vessel view setup. So it’s a learning experience for sure. Lots of reading and laying things out over and over. Still have to run power to the dash for switches. And the vessel view needs a power source. So this is on a bulkhead under the dash. The opposite side of the modules so you can change the fuses and add more circuits. It’s only going to have a bilge pump and it will be wired for lights.
IMG_9532.JPG

One of the covered cables that looks like it’s hanging goes to the ignition. So it’s just hanging until I have a side panel and so are the two wires going to the bilge pump switch and nav light switch. (Brown is bilge, grey is nav lights) Sorry some stuff isn’t finished yet and it won’t look neat and orderly in some of the pics until I’m done.

The dash will only have the helm and vessel view. Switches and ignition are going on the side panel.

Down to the bilge. We decided to put the electric power steering and battery as far forward as we can get them.

Mercury calls for a battery isolator and just an on off switch instead of a traditional Perko switch. It’s only getting one battery. But will be wired for two in case a stereo is added or someone wants two batteries down the road. The alternator will wire to the isolator. The starter to the battery.
IMG_9530.JPG

I haven’t made battery cables yet. Just placing and running the low voltage stuff. The bilge is automatic as well as manual. There’s a junction so if it fails you can unclip the body from the base and just wire it back the junction. No “butt” connectors in this boat.

Harness and wiring coming from the dash along the bottom of the back seat. Steering hoses will be in a bundle next to this as well.

Wires in the gunnel are held up by cushion clamps every 12 inches. They are counter sunk behind the side panel and through bolted.

Here’s the steering unit. It’s mounted now. The battery will be opposite side. This is about where I stopped today. Now that I have measurements I can get the hose kit. The steering unit has a cable that goes to the motor. And to the battery.

The tank has a canister system. A special gas cap. There’s three hoses along with the fuel fill from the tank. I hate how complicated it is.

Anyhow enjoy. I’ll be back at it next week. I won’t have time for a few days to get back on it. Hopefully I have 90 percent of the rigging done and the motor on in the next couple weeks. [emoji111]️

That’s it besides an 18”x18” 3/8 plate on the inside and plates on the outside between the jack plate and transom also. That will spread the load across the transom but those huge kickers are supposed to be sufficient.

OD1 you can also disassemble the plugs, trim to fit properly and attach new connectors then reassemble the plug to make any harness longer/shorter as necessary.

When I have to fabricate a harness that is no longer available it's what you have to resort to lol. Just make yourself a good diagram/chart of the location of the proper wires, it's not hard, just tedious.

I can get my son to come out and help you do this he is now NASA Certified in harness rebuilding.

Super tight and sweet wiring layout Paul that kind of finish takes a lot of time. If you are looking for some trick wiring supplies check out www.prowireusa.com
They carry the Raychem shrink wrap and Deutsch connectors along with the Tefzel mil spec. wire.

Couple new pics. The Bobs plate is on. We took it apart and had it polished. Made a plate for the inside and had it powder coated. There’s a lot of good guys in Havasu that have helped us get to this point so far.

Motor is next then I can start finishing the rigging.

The motor looks really proportional I think. [emoji106]

This carb compliant tank sucks ass. With the stupid canister, special gas fill and a bazillion vent lines. [emoji849]

All those pics are just the fill and vent system.

Bilge pump is plumbed.

And I mounted the base for the rigging tube.

Next week before the boat show hopefully I’ll
get things lined up and connected to the motor. I think we are bringing it there. [emoji6]

Will this boat be for sale? If so do you have guesstimate on the price?

Yes, that’s the plan. We really don’t yet. Being the first one, we really don’t know until it’s done. Not sure on the interior yet or floor covering( sea deck, carpet, or??). Maybe by the boat show we can kind of see where we are at and get a ballpark.
