Always wanted a dually. Originally wanted a chevy but the old 90's are damn near impossible to find. Anything newer gets really weird shaped and the fenders get funky looking to me. Been looking forever and came across this guy once I started looking outside of CA. Willing to trade straight up for my 07 navigator. KBB prices em out exactly the same. Has a 5.7 hemi with a turbocharger. Frame isnt cut. Air Lift Performance kit on it. 22" wheels with semi adapters. Anyone had experience with these? Anything to look out for? It looks extremely clean. Only problem is its all the way across the country... quite the drive. The guy is willing to split the gas there and back so thats a good thing.

Freaking Amen to that. Went all over kingdom come to find our new one in January (1994 slammed); finally found one in Vegas. Needs some fine tuning, but it's getting there! Good luck on your truck hunt and hope this one works out for you!

Aftermarket turbo ? plan on rebuilding the engine after you get it , and taking the turbo off . You could sell the turbo to do some other less invasive mod to the engine . Very rarely do you see a clean aftermarket install.

That’s what I’m kinda thinking. Take the money from the turbo kit and maybe put aside for rebuild or swap in a diesel or something.

Or some non tow mirrors.

If you want some accurate numbers on a diesel swap, you need to call Maximum Diesels in San Jacinto 951-654-8181.

Agreed

Well scheduled time off for work, gonna pick up my dad in bullhead AZ friday and head out. Should have it on monday and headed home. Guy has sent me a TON of pictures and videos. The paint is immaculate. The turbo setup under the hood appears to be completely functional and in good shape but the wiring looks a little rats nested for my tastes... nothing I cant fix. Should be a fun trip and I'll get some time alone with my dad doing manly things.

Anyone looking for a mid 90's Chevy Dually, there's one for sale near the Circle K off of Lake in Havasu. The sign says $7500 and its looks like it's in decent shape. I can get a number on the way home today and a picture of the truck.

Did you find out if it is really a one ton truck?

I'm going to go out on a limb here and tell you that is likely a horrible purchase.

My dad has that vintage dodge, and so did my brother in law. They are total piles of shit, and cant imagine anyone being ballsy enough to turbo one of those engines, but I understand why they'd want to... they have no horsepower.

This sounds like worse of an idea that raw dogging a hooker

If that aint a converted 1/2 ton or 3/4 ton, its frame is hacked up. They didnt offer a non mega cab with that short of a bed on a dually.
Im in the collision business, and that has the possibility of being really hacked up if it really was a dually in its first life.
Id love to wish the Op good luck, but being a gas mopar, hes gonna need lots of prayer!
Anyways, good luck op! Id keep looking for a gm though!

I hope it’s exactly as advertised but none of what is being said sounds legit.

Was this package a factory option? Seems like a gasser small block short bed would cater to an extremely tiny fraction of buyers. How does seller get it to lay out pretty well yet no frame mods? Either it has a 1/2” of suspension or its notched.

Agreed, and the only way to make a dodge gasser worse is to shower it in aftermarket garbage.

If you want to sit that in your driveway and look at it...fine, but if you want to use it at all, as one might use a truck, I would not.

Plus, I think it looks gayer than a bag of dicks.

Edit: And every Chrysler engine with a ".7" at the end of it is a piece of shit

I think, based on the comments above, that is the best thing that could have happened to you.

eh it was a conversion. swapped the rear axle and bed. tossed a turbo kit on it, and an airbag kit. frame wasnt cut at all, etc. it wasnt that bad of a deal considering my navi is only worth 10k at best.

im kinda looking around at dodges now that im liking the bodystyle and the bed with integrated fenders rather than slapped on the side of a normal bed like the chevys. wondering if i can grab a similar crew cab truck and just do the swap work myself.

Tell that fucking guy to stop leaning on your new truck.

man you can have that one, i'd MUCH rather have that OBS truck.

I'd have to ditch that blue interior though, i'd have it all redone in grey tweed, along with new grey carpet kit. That thing would be TITS then!

My old man has 96 crew cab dually with a 5/7 drop. 146000 miles, new trans. all it did was pull the boat. I think he wants around 9k for it.

Best bet is to find something unmolested and do the work yourself or have a reputable shop do it. My idea of a clean mod, lowering job, turbo kit, etc, etc is quite different than the majority of the public. It truly amazes me the hack jobs you see out there.

I'm sure the guy flaking out is the best thing that could happen to you.
