Its boating brands reported net sales of $304 million, up from $285 million in the same period the previous year, with operating profits of $25 million.

It sounds like the small boats are profitable but the large yachts are not....

Obviously, their big boats don't sell well anymore. Like it how some haters turn it into blaming Trump for it.:rolleyes: Some comment below the article;

The latest example of “winning” under the current administration. Very sorry for the 440 affected employees

That's a ton of people flooding the market.

They have been trying to sell Sea Ray for a couple of years now and officially announced they were for sale last year with no buyers. They sold Hatteras a couple of years ago. They owned both of these companies through the recession.

Interesting Boat US article about Tariffs and the boat market: http://www.boattest.com/view-news/5950_the_eu_hits_american_boats_with_25_percent_tariff

I did like their new outboard lines particularly the 320 Sundancer outboard:

I have a friend with a 40 it is a really nice boat. Handles Catalina no problem.

No more Yachts just the smaller lines. Does this include Sundancer?

I dig the Sundancer Cruisers. 40-45' range would suit me just fine!
Sounds like BC is the keeping the brand and focusing on their sport boat and cruiser lines which should include their Sundancer line.

That sucks. But it's a difficult market to keep up with the big boys like sunseeker, azmut and some of the other large well known yachts in the 60-100' range. I do hope they keep the sundancer 40-60 line. Beautiful boats! Buddy just sold his 65', thing was amazing.

They made some nice yachts.
Didn’t start getting good until about $1.1 mill. IMHO.

That’s a tough market.
Believe it or not it’s a very competitive segment.
We’ve been invited aboard some wedding cakes that were incredible. Especially stabilizing underway and at anchor. Planing hulls, crazy stuff.

When Granny Axehandle taps out, just maybe,,,,, ahhh,, nahhh.
