Has anybody ceramic coated their car/truck? I'm thinking about it just wondering about the pros/cons. I've been reading about it but it would be nice to hear from real life experiences with it.

All of my vehicles are ceramic coated with Opti-Coat Pro Plus. Had them all done a few years ago and will get every vehicle coated from this point on. We like the fact that the car stays clean for much longer and sap and bird crap rinse off.

What about older cars trucks? I have an 07 chevy pk up, every time I jump in the truck it’s filthy and needs a wash it sits for days at a time.

I believe so. Might want to call the people that installed it on my vehicles.

if so wonder why people have not done it. looks like it would save alot of sun and water spot damage

A few board members have had ceramic coatings done on their boats. I know Jason @stokerwhore had his boat done but not sure which brand of coating he used.

Boats and cars get ceramic coated, makes cleaning them very easy and no waxing for years. Bugs hose off with little effort.

I just picked some up from Adams

Haven't had s chance to try it out

Process looks a bit challenging as you have to strip all wax and polish any imperfections (scratches, etc) cause once you glaze it you'll see any and all imperfections
Apparently it's a bitch to polish off and touch up

The stuff seems pretty frickin hardy

Just waiting for a day (and the energy) to tackle the job

You will want to have it fully detailed before.

I have done a lot of boat coatings. If you are having someone coat your boat make sure they use Marine Specific coatings. Boats are in a much more harsh environment than cars. If you use a good installer a Marine coating should have a minimum warranty for 2 years. On cars less than 3 years old my coatings carry a lifetime warranty. Prior to coating the installer should perform any color correction and polishing needed. Remember the coating lasts a long time so you will not be able to buff it out later.

Thanks for the info... I have a new jeep so it should need minimal paint correction. How long does the process take. One day?

Each of mine took one day but they recommend you leave it for two days. One day to do the work and one day to make sure the stuff is cured. The place I recommended will let you use their Fiat 500 Electric car while they do the work. :D

I believe a 21 ' boat is 4k

I need to move my business where they are getting 4k for a 21' boat. Factory warrantied coatings in Havasu are anywhere from 60 to 100 per foot.

You answered my question in regards to bugs. If they get really dried on do they still come off easy

We got our Rubicon done and have been super happy with it. Easy to clean and the coating protects the paint from brush pinstripes.

A bad application will look bad.

Do not have this done by an amateur.. When done right this looks amazing. When someone who does not know what they are doing it looks horrible.

How's it holding up 2 years later

Never had the truck done and had the trailer done in December. So still new and time will tell. Want the truck done just haven’t got the time to drop it off for couple of days.

Ive done a couple boats, wifes new car, and our motorhome. Really impressed so far, boat clean up and RV clean up is really simple with a pressure washer, DI water system and a leaf blower.

Im having my truck done as we speak, see how it goes. Honestly i wasn't ever that impressed with it in on my boat, but i did leave boat in the parker water for 3-4 days at a time and maybe that was asking a little too much from product.

I'm a cheap ass and did it myself using the nextgen ceramic spray tested it on my new black truck a very noticeable difference visually/touch and the next 2 washes were easy. wasn't no quickie job i spent the time on each panel per the instructions i ended up doing both commuter cars and the boat is next.
