Good Lord!!

I drove Barney's old 21 Liberator a few times and it would run upper 90's pretty handily. I think he finally got it dialed into the point where it would break a 100 with a 300x but I'd have to ask him. He hasn't been around years though.

RD

haha no kidding, even that name alone made me pause and think when the last time I heard it was.

**edit**
(shit, just caught myself replying to a 1 yr old post, i either need more coffee or to go back to bed)

Kennie. I remember when Wildman painted your boat I thought it came out great,.. damn its been 10 years.

Hi J.P., nice to meet you. - Time flies. It was purchased by a man in Canada who had it built and painted and rigged by Wildman and then brought it North across the border to Huntsville, Ontario ( just north of Toronto, Canada ) . He kept it for 4 years and sold it to another guy just south of him in a place called Ottatwa. At this stage of the game it only had 140 hours on the whole package and Boathouse kept its whole life, looks brand new still. I saw it come for sale on the boat trader, went to see it and bought it on the spot. Prior to buying it, I did not know much about the Liberator Boats. The man I was buying it from told me about Randy, so I called Randy who was nice enough to take some time out of his day to tell me about them and then I watched all the videos , so it was a no brainier. I was very familiar with DCB, Eliminator, Skater, Talon, ect which you see all these up here in Canada. But I always like something that other people do not have, and this fit the bill. From the moment I laid eyes on this I knew I had to have it. It is a piece of art just sitting at my dock and looks like an exotic car on the water. I have literally had so many people in boats stop by to see it and ask me questions about it ( of course that was after I did a 103 MPH fly by past their lake cabins lol. ) I am 56 years old and have had many, many boats and still own several boats, but this one is my favorite. We are up in Parry Sound, Ontario on Georgian Bay where it can get extremely rough in which case we take out the big boat. But on the days where it is a little more calm, its the Liberator all the way. I am amazed at how it eats up a 2 foot chop with ease and cruises effortlessly at 75-80 MPH. The build quality is awesome and soooo sexy to look at with that tear away paint job. My son who is 19 is the envy of the lake with his buddies and even my 17 year old daughter takes it out as well. My wife, well not so much lol. She likes here Four Winns 29 foot bowridder for comfort.. We have a place in Fort Meyers Florida we bought and I am definitely going to see Randy next month and see the shop. I would be interested to see how the 25 and 30 foot handles and goes like and see what happens from there. Do not think i will ever sell the 21 though, just add to the fleet lol- cheers J.P.

Gang,
My Dad is seriously thinking of buying a 21' Liberator tunnel with a 300R.

Does anyone have any experience with this? There was an RDP board member on here that had one but I forgot who it is. If there is anyone that has reasons for or against this boat and the 300R, let me know them.

He is getting up there in years and needs a full blown turnkey boat.

He has a 21' Ultra I/O now with a 350Mag.

thanks in advance
Post in Outboard Church. Alex has this same setup. Alex logs alot of hours on his and did a run to the Golden Gate bridge last year.

I get the bare hulls from Liberator in Texas. Been doing them since 2002. I have 6 in stock and four more ordered. Here's two I just finished this week. Mine are rigged and finished completely different from the Texas Liberators. Prices run from high 60's to mid $70's. More pics and videos on my website at Liberatorpowerboats.com

Here's a video of the 21 Liberator with the first 300R I rigged on one. This is the boat KING OF BEERS bought in California.

The 300 V8 Johnrudes were monsters. Made good power but are fucking heavy suckers!

actually not that bad compared to the modern 4stroke "porky-pig" outboards..just have to have a fuel-tanker truck follow you:oops:

Randy - Is there a difference between the 21 and 22 Liberators? Someone said just top deck on another forum?

The 22 has the front deck and windshield from the 25 Liberator. It also has about 1 inch higher gunnels. Same bottom. It is 21ft long, not 22.

That said, is it safe to assume there’s less wind in your face on the 22?

Hard to say because they are both very good at wind deflection. I just wear sunglasses at 110. The extra 1" on the 22's dash permits me to use a Garmin screen for charts and all motor info.

Not if you are 6'2"! Im in the wind big time in my 21. My 5'6" wife...not as much. Wind in your face is half the joy of a low slung 21'er. 128 hrs of fun on mine so far.👍

Welcome Wildman! When your photos have finished uploading at the top of the list you will see a button that looks similar to the images but says “insert every image as”. Click full image so they show up as pics instead of thumbnails.

I fixed the post above for ya.
