Those are pretty cool. What would they run with a 300 as far as WFO?

I am curious why they went with the 300r's after the first 400r boat was built. Weight?

Anyone? Bueller?

What hulls? Where laid up? LIttle background would be cool.

These were originally the Howard Molds, than my buddy Danny (rip, who my son is named after) bought them and had DCM.. Ricky bought them from Dan sr. And now they are the Maxed Our Marine Family Cruiser 21

Are they laying them up in Havasu? Are they basic fiberglass layup or carbon infused or??? Someone looks like they know what they're doing with a full capped rail on the one and partial on the other. Are these the first two. Very good looking!

I think it's pretty cool someone building these smaller runners. If the price point is right, things should sell well.

Man, I know a few people that bought molds and wanted to build their own boats. Matter of fact a buddy of mine had a few Howard molds. Ended up scrapping them. It's a crazy amount of work and a lot more work than many think. Kudos to Ricky for gettin' it done.

I believe they are right at 100k with the 400

mid all depends on options.. the black and white one with the 300R has a ton of upgrades and msrp is 114k. RDP special on that boat only is 99,900.00

The blue and white one is 84k. It has a vessel view 1/4 cap / and a ski pole as upgrades.

One of my all time favorite set of molds. Glad someone’s using them.

You would get a kick out of driving one of these! If you are interested I could set it up.. totally different than an IO

How can that be a 2019 Howard when they sold the molds years ago? Did they borrow them back after Danny passed?
Don’t know the details of your question, but there was a build thread on that boat I just don’t know how to look it up and post it.🤪

Blue boat ran 72 mph with a 26 prop.. getting on plane and mid range is insane! Love these new 300r’s

Probably won't go a lot faster with that gearcase before blowout. Depending on dia of prop.

That makes a little more sense, a coue years ago Ricky had said that he was thinking starting was around 75k, so factor in trailer and few upgrades its in the ballpark.

Are they being laid up with wood stringers and transom or are they using synthetics like coosa?

haha that was really a question i was wondering too, but didnt want to get off in the weeds on it.

Would be killer to get an ultra light weight layup with modern light weight materials, vac bagged

I’m sure Advantage used wood I’m not sure about Conquest. I will have to ask my son but I’m pretty sure he did some of the wood work in the black one.

Just messing around in the black one I ran 77.8 mph.. It will run an honest 80 if you pull the tabs up and wring its neck.

The white and black one is the cats ass.. I really like how that boat handles!

yea, thats my feelings, I suspected they laid them up old school.

Not that I NEED to be thinking about a new boat, but I do like the little bigger size these have vs my current Rayson.

Is there anything different with how the blue and white one is rigged, vs the white / black one, in regards to handling? Both same hull, 300r on the back. Just curious

This is my idea of a mid week Havasu boat when I get to retire. Lower river runs too.

I can’t wait.

Man those outboards are a lot of money. They look great and seem to have good performance but expensive.

I agree, how much for one with an LSA and a bravo? Who am I kidding, I still can't afford one!

I think the 300r is like 22k? The rest of the cost is all boat!

I hope they are not using wood in the lay up. It’s 2020, way too many higher tech options out there.

So, I text my buddy that bought the molds from gene. Turns out I was wrong. He didn’t destroy them. Well not all. He got an 18 or 19 vee, a 21 vee and a 26 vee. He also bought a 26 cat hull tanks and saddles and rigged it himself. Pretty sure it’s still running around havasu. It’s blue white and grey. This was around 05. After finishing the 26 cat he decided he did not want to venture into boat building as a hobby and destroyed the smaller mold but sold the other two molds to my buddy Justin (the guy I run with in the talon cat in havasu if you’ve seen our desert storm pics on here). Anyway, Justin flips boats and immediately listed the molds. He sold the 26 mold to some dude that build one boat, that’s supposedly pretty bad ass and then never did any other one and no one knows where the mold is no.

however according to Justin he’s pretty sure he sold the 21 mold to Danny, so it’s the same mold making these little bad boys now!
Small world this performance boating world.
Anyway, that’s the story. 😁👍

Can you ask him what 19 he has?
