Gotta be a few fans of the old body style, Ive always wanted one ever since they started the "Sport Truck" scene way back then. So when this one came up for adoption a few tears ago I couldnt resist.
She just had a heart transplant last month, gave it a healthy 502HO, runs down the hwy plenty good now.
Its a true 90 SS 454 but modded out, I prefer customs over stockers. Anyways here it is, lets see yours

Is that a crate motor, if so what did that set you back?

Nice 454!!! I was in SoCal from 89-92. Always wanted on since the yellow Budnik truck. Bought a 98 and had it for 18 years. It didn’t make sense to keep it at the time. I still would like to have one at some point.

I always loved these trucks! They were the new hot trucks when I was in high school and have always stuck with me.

I'm not a fan of lowered trucks but this is by far the best looking body style lowered!

It's BA and I like it

The motor listed for about $7500 (its the 502 HO, 461hp**558Lbs) but I had to add carb, distributer, fuel pressure regulator etc. All in all came out around $9000 but added something's at swap like new starter, motor mounts, Idler arm and on and on. New radiator and shroud, 2 16" Spal fans, then of course a new higher ampped alternator, shit never ends but runs very well now and stays at 185-90 in the Havasu heat :) Happy bout that !!!!!!

Mine just had a Birthday, 20 years old on 7-31, drove her off the lot from Connell Chevy in Costa Mesa. I was choosing between the new Small Block short bed Crew Cab or a used (1 year old) lowered Dually Crew cab, if the Dually would have been White or Blue i probably would have gone that route. This truck has been awesome for us, just about to turn 380,000 on original engine, I put a trans in at 300k because I felt guilty, Trans guys was amazed how good it still looked. Have always wanted to lower it but never pulled the trigger.

I am kicking myself as I just gave my 99' K2500 Suburban to my nephew, We upgraded from our 95' 4wd Tahoe in late 2000 and bought the Suburban as we had #3 on the way and the Tahoe's did not have the 3rd seat options in 95 plus the Suburban was loaded and my Mom really wanted Tahoe (She still has it and its in great shape) The burb needed a full resto, was super clean but needed engine, trans and paint... just didn't have the time... I gave it away in Feb, Covid hits and I have not had to travel for work since March, shit!

That truck at 2:21 is here in Havasu (well a great replica anyways) at Mark Ojas shop, its his truck shown heading out on the island.

I was waiting to see who noticed that in the vid [emoji106]

Kornowski’s OBS dually is another that oozes river cool. Only vid I could fine that shows it on 22’s.

Carter killed it with the OG river vibe in this vid.

The longer version video has been released. Some very cool names I remember and memories from back in the day. Our high school parking lot was loaded with custom OBS trucks and we were all trying to one up another with accessories.

I love the 1988 – 1998 OBS chevy's. Especially the 454SS, buddy had one in high school and it ripped. So much you can do with the 454 for pretty cheap. I lost interest when they went to the NBS 1999+ Silverado's. Just didn't do it for me like the OBS. I think the prices are about the blow up on the OBS trucks, you don't see many around like you used to, especially clean ones.

Boy do I hope you are right about the prices going up, Ive got so much $$$ in mine now I dont think I can ever recover, but its bad ass even if I have to say so myself
Also I forgot that I wanted to say thanks to a couple of shops in Havasu I used for this project that I am very happy with, Chubs Classic Garage & Crash Customs 👍

Watched this yesterday. So cool and brought back a ton of good memories. I was late to the scene getting my first obs in 1996 but it was cool to see some of the trucks i remember seeing at local shows. I believe i saw Rob wilson's (modern image) yellow x cab in the video. I bought his 17" Colorado Customs for my regular cab when he wen't 20's. I think that truck was one of the first to run a huge wheel...haha

It was at his shop right across from the old Magic plant, lookjng south, almost next door to Grizz's Customs if you happen to know him. Its usually parked out back in the parking lot last I saw it.

My 1998. It’s a great little truck. It’s the 6th or 7th 88 to 98 single cab short bed I’ve owned. I love em.

Love the OBS chevy's. They ruined the classic looks with the NBS style. Been watching these for the past 2 years and the prices are skyrocketing.

Here is my old 94 OBS. I remember all my friends thought that I was stupid for getting 17" rims. They were old school and said you have to have 15's. I dont even think they put on wheels unless they are at least 20's now.

I bought a new '88 C3500, 454, extended cab prior to the OBS crew cab dually being available.

I always wanted a dually so....

In 1990 I converted it into a dually... Trader Tims conversion kit... fenders, wheels, adapters and a weekend

Ha I’ve never heard the term OBS in any context other than Ford.
Obs is definitely a Chevy term. Fords never made it that long on the road to be in the obs category!! Haha. Jk.
