A good friend of mine decided to start doing some gel repairs on his boats.. As it turns out a few other friends of ours wanted some work done too.

He has decided to take on customers one boat at a time. No derigging, he doesn’t have the time. He’s a member here but doesn’t spend very much time on social media at all...

If you followed the 22 Howard refresh, that was him. At the time Steve didn’t know if he wanted to take on customers. He decided to take on customers as of today.

Latest boat out of the shop...

Wow. Those look so much better without the hockey sticks on the deck.

Wow, nice work. So labor intensive! It's so hard to put a realistic price on this kind of work. I do small glass and gel coat repairs all the time, but a whole boat, what a pain!

Nice. Where is he located? Does he do refresh jobs? Contact info?

Marking this thread so I can come back to it. Where is his “shop”? Have a 23’ ultra that I’d like him to take a look at for some repairs.

So Cal/Glendale area. I’m sure he will do a refresh job.

He’s not looking to make a living off of gel work. He has a full time business. I think he wants to offer a fair price while keeping a talented hard working guy employed full time.

That's rad. His work looks amazing!

Right? After seeing the orange vector it makes me want to take my Vector apart and drop it off for a few weeks! Lol

My 240 will be up next for some minor repairs. Then my dads 240...

We will keep this thread going. [emoji106]

Whoa. That Orange Vector re-gel is sharp.

"Steve’s personal boat. Fixed all the stress cracks re-gelled some areas, color sand and buff... " Some areas? 😆 Nice work.

Thanks for posting this Hammer.

Hammy, are you the middle man or the "Go between," or does he just not want his contact info posted for fear of being overloaded with work? From the pictures you're sharing, his work looks amazing and I'm sure there will be lots who are interested in giving him our business. Just wondering while bumping this thread to the top. ;)

Short answer yes or all of the above.... There are people calling already that know him(he was trying to avoid that). We will work out the details soon. We aren't looking to take business away from other shops. More to come...

Those stringers will make a big difference. Did they beef-up the bulkhead also? Nicely done.

I'm not sure.. I stop by when I can... I'll have him provide some updates when he can...

Not knowing much about re-gel coating work, it looks like it goes on lumpy as fuck, and he has to sand it and polish down to a smooth finish? That is labor intensive. A big boat would be a real event!

How do I get on the waiting list? Hallett wouldn't touch my 270 last year. When I bought it 7 years ago it had a the four inches below the rub rail painted for some reason.
There was some weird shit done...probably was a cheap bandaid but it looks like crap now.

20-25k range depending on how much prep work is involved.
