I've heard the same thing. I heard someone back in the day had a monster Hemi in a 19, and easily ran it over 100. They reportedly said the boat felt more stable and secure than others they had been in at the same speeds. I dont know who said that, it's just a rumor I've heard over the years....

The mold for these boats originally had four strakes. Schiada filled the two center strakes in the mold; thereafter, all the Schiadas and Howards (beginning in 1977) had two strakes. This is the only four strake boat I've ever seen aside from the Schiada jet that occasionally races Comp Jet.

Mine has four strakes. Why did they remove two of them in the later boats?

Has anyone ever seen a Howard 19' that looks like my Sanger... I bought this Sanger in 97' as a bare hull because the PO had Howard build a new 19' and they laid the gel coat out exactly like the Baca paint job on this Sanger, I had the opportunity in the early 2000's to buy it but was building a house and didn't want to get divorced. I looked at it and it was beautiful, all stainless hard line plumbing... have never seen it online in all these years.

There is a guy in the Fresno area that has the molds and is laying up new hulls to order. He has posted pictures last year on Facebook.

I’m not on Facebook, but who is laying these up?

I heard the same thing about the molds! Kinda cool that somebody has them! I'd like to hear more of the story from this new builder.

Gene had the molds for sale on the performanceboats.com forum in 2012/2013. I had always heard it was the 20’ GN mold that Gene cut up, not the 19’.

I talked to him last week, he’s also doing prop work along with rudders and other hardware. He’s not on here, he’s on Facebook and Instagram. His name is Nolte and his company is NME Boats.

thats it.
That thing was badass, original Schiada sea horse logos under the clear, original rigging with the TT motor. Too bad the clear over the green flake was going away on it.
