Looking at getting my son a classic car. Would like a '65-'69 Mustang or a '66-'70 Chevelle or El Camino
Outside of craigslist where is a good spot to look?
Thanks in advance

No way. He's sixteen? I'd look on Craigslist for a 2010 Civic.
Started doing the Pomona swapper 30ish years ago with my FIL. Great deals and a awesome way to spend an early Sunday morning. The last few years before the Vid it was a bunch of cars people threw high prices on to see if they could get a bite. It was also a way for guys to get out of the house. “Honey, I’m going to try to sell the car today”. Gotta get in on the Saturday deals with the sellers or first thing Sunday morning when it starts up to have a chance.Do people still do the Pomona swap meet?

Its either this or I give him my 2014 F150 Lariat
We bought a 74’ Vette for our oldest. He went through back surgery from a wrestling/football injury at 15. (He really wanted a classic car).No way.

Auto with Hound's Tooth and a convertible to boot...sweet ride man!68 396, if I don't sell it going to drag it to my daughters for her to mess with it.
Before you buy your child "old iron" to drive around because we all have this conception of full frame = bad ass safety please watch this...:RDP folks,

My 2cents...from a previous Mustang owner, and I was also a teen boy:
If you want a classic, find a stock 6cyl car. They're cheaper on initial purchase. After a few weeks or months, do the brake and suspension upgrades. This will see by time and effort if he's still interested. It also makes the car ready for a motor/trans upgrade. If he hangs in there, still showing interest, build up a motor and trans combo.
Teenage boys are, by nature, a bit on the short end of the patience spectrum. Even if you find a stocker at a decent price, 289 2v car, he can drive it for a bit. If he likes it, and respects it, start looking for "the right car". That way your not out a ton if direction changes.
Don't get me wrong, I'm all for you spending your money. I just don't ever like people to spend too much, too soon.
Another thing, avoid cars from NY and FL...never heard a good story that started with "I bought this from a guy in...".
Full disclaimer, my first car was a 65 K code Mustang...in 1992. Lots of lawns and construction slave work...I was 14.
What you looking to get for this ?68 396, if I don't sell it going to drag it to my daughters for her to mess with it.
Zero foreign iron for me. Dont need to start a personal decision derailment here its just a personal choice. I have never owned a foreign carBefore you buy your child "old iron" to drive around because we all have this conception of full frame = bad ass safety please watch this...:
It changed my mind too. Put your kid in a new "Honda, Toyota" before allowing them to drive something "old and solid". It's a whole new game with airbags/crumple zones etc.
Hmmmm. Didn't think about thatOr Texas. All of those cars will be flood damaged.
He only has a ‘70 ready to sell. Has kind of a weird motor tranny combo, he must have bought it that way.Anymore info ?
Haven’t looked in a while, I assume low 50’s.What you looking to get for this ?
