That thing was badass, original Schiada sea horse logos under the clear, original rigging with the TT motor. Too bad the clear over the green flake was going away on it.

Yea, my feelings exactly. I spent some time over at Steves going over it one afternoon. He was trying to cram these alum tanks out of a 21 ft spectra into there. He cut the neck off of one trying to rock it under the gunnel and into place but it was a no go. I ended up buying those tanks from him for my howard project.

It was a legit classic hotrod.

Found about fifteen years ago up by San Franshitsco. The guy that bought it then had it at a Schiada Nottaaregatta, it was a sweet nosty deal.

Sorry for the late response, but I have one. Even though Howard had no record of it ever being built. I couldn't get any info from anyone else, so I basically have a "Late Friday afternoon Special" Howard 19 with Schiada stickers on it. HIN says it's a Howard, so......that's what it is. 😁

Yup, that’s me, but the boat in the pics is a different boat. Found ‘em on facegram, pics were from 2016 and there was a post from 2018 where the hull was for sale so it was never finished.

The orange one is still orange. It’s coming along.

When was this?
I came across the pic in an obituary from 2012, but the pic looks older.

I’m assuming the obituary was that of the original and/or previous owner, Donald Townend; perhaps you bought the boat from his family (?).

Yessir, from his grandson in Lawndale.

Well, how did it go??
It followed me home.... SUPER clean boat, should be a fun lower river boat. He fired it up for a second and my 16yr old son couldn't stop smiling and giggling like a school girl. A friend works on one thats a V drive GN boat, he has never seen a jet. Said they work pretty good with a V drive so he's wondering how the jet will work.

How low? Im at Lost Lake all year round
We have a place down in Ehrenberg. Grew up going to LL but stopped going in the early 90s. Started going there again in the early 2000s but the wife hated the drive up from the 10. Use to leave our toy hauler there, moved it down to The Cove right off the 10. When it came time to buy something we ended up in Ehrenberg in Vista Del Rio, about 1/2 mile north of the 10. Been there for 16 years now.

I'm glad to hear you were able to pick this up! Congratulations!! Mine is nowhere near ready for the water, but I keep telling myself..... someday it will be.

I'm curious about yours. Since yours is a jet, is the bottom a "V" bottom or is it a rounded keel??

I just bought this 77 Howard 19’. It’s a Howard but it has 4 stringers. It’s the only one I’ve seen.

Welcome to the club! Also a Howard 19' owner and yes, mine is also a four stringer boat. 👍 It's not a v-drive though.....
