Yep, I just got off GunBroker after waiting a week for the one I wanted badly. I had set a limit this morning and stood by it. I was the first loser.I had good luck wit “Gun Broker”. Know what you want and set a limit.
Gen 3 is the only one on roster in California so it can be shipped, gen 4 and 5 have to be an in person transfer at a gun store, the 27 I just got is a gen 3Gen 3’a are going for cheap as many want the gen 5 MOS’s for RMR’s
17/19’s are hard to come by. 40’s are still around as agencies are going back to the 9 again.
I got one of 4 17’s left for awhile from Pro Force.Gen 3 is the only one on roster in California so it can be shipped, gen 4 and 5 have to be an in person transfer at a gun store, the 27 I just got is a gen 3

Fellow Tech posted a 4506 for sale on it.
He gets a call 20 minutes later , buyer tells him he took the add down is buying it.
Crazy times indeed.
It’s a legend in LAPD : It was the first .45 we could carry in Patrol. It pretty much got replaced in 02-05 by Glock 21’s , then had a comeback about 7 years ago when 1911’s were approved for patrol. All the Cops hired after 2002 had to go through “de cocker” school before going g to 1911 school. My first semiauto I bought when I turned 21 was a 4506. It's sitting in my safe in Havasu, and has not been fired since the early 90's.

All the Cops wanting a 1911 had to buy a 4506 first and were paying $1k left and right for them lol.
Then young guys were carrying them to look “Old school”
Too funny
Interesting. I went to the academy in 92 with a Glock and never really looked back. I have never been a fan of DA / SA guns for carry, and the 4506 is heavy as hell. I think I will keep it as a safe queen. [emoji1]
LAPD brass would only allow a de cocker 45 as to be in line with the Beretta , hence the 4506.Interesting. I went to the academy in 92 with a Glock and never really looked back. I have never been a fan of DA / SA guns for carry, and the 4506 is heavy as hell. I think I will keep it as a safe queen.
How would the Glock compare to the Colt M1911? I carried that 30 years ago and haven’t shot a 45 since. I’d like to buy a Glock 40, but could do a 45 also.

That's what I did. Don't forget the 9mm mags also.
Too bad they got lost in that horrible boating accident.
When my Dept started allowing semi-autos, (ca 1989) a lot of guys went with the 4506. I have relatively small hands and '06 was just too big to comfortably handle. I went with the compact 4516. Even with 2 less rounds I could keep up at the range, (remember wheel guns only carried 6) and kept consistency when carried concealed.
All this talk of the 4506. Not sure what tax transcript filings have to do with firearms.

More gangsters talked about that gun when it got deployed in 97’ LA than I can remember.
I still hear from time to time “Hey Detective, you used to carry one of them hand cannons?”
Amazing what change of color does to make a barrel seem bigger lol.
Fixed itFunny you posted that picture. When I picked up my 1911 yesterday, I asked the guy if this was the white version or the less white version.
