So jealous and 65 is one of my favorite years. The Empis (I think that is called a BRM)look so sweet on there. What a great looking little car. I wouldn't want to know what you paid as the cost on clean bugs is out of control.

In 97 I found a 65 CalLook leftover, slammed with graphics, stock 1300 I believe. GF at the time needed a car. Dropped a 1915 and Kadrons in it. She drove it for a few years up in Fresno, student teaching and such. When we got married, kept it. Car seats didn't work well, so we sold it in 9 or 10. Lowered bugs handle pretty good too!

Beautiful car! Going to show my wife these pics tonight!

Didn’t she just have a Corvette?

That’s one hell of a performance swing.

Clean bugs are getting hard to find.
We sold it before the market for C7's took a dump since the C8 was coming. That and twice she got backed into in it. In Havasu there are lots of people that drive older trucks without back up cameras. Shes getting gas, truck in front of her just backs up over the top of it. Get it fixed, few months later, sitting at a stop light, lady in front of us decides she wants to turn left instead of straight, backs up in order to move over a lane, crunch again. After that she was afraid to drive it, and I had gotten my Camaro SS 1LE, so she gets her V8 fix from that when she needs it. If you drive a very low profile car, leave alot of room when pulling in behind older cars and trucks that dont have back up cams. You cant see a corvette in the rear view mirror of full size truck.

Dam twice really sucks. Making Back up cameras standard was a very bad idea. People rely on them now and wait for the beep before they look.

Back in my day we would use these things called mirrors. Never had a problem.

My parents got a new black one and white one from my moms parents as a wedding present. When I was born, they stuck me in the little compartment in the back behind the seat over the engine. They put a bunch of blankets in there and the heat of the engine and the vibration kept me asleep for hours. That was what was referred to as a car seat back then.

No, I was saying those wheels are Empi BRMs, not the car.

Pheewww - Glad the Mrs does come on here. She would want me to buy her one too, lol. Her 1st car was a Ghia Convertible and she’s always wanted another VW ever since she sold it for a Soccer Mom Van way back when. ⚽

That’s a sweet ride but we all know it’s yours Walt, lol 😝

Put A/C and make it a year round cruiser. The finished product looks really good, and it will blow you away how cold it actually blows. I did one in my 65 about 3 years ago.
