In Havasu? Good luck, I tried getting concrete work done for 4 months. Could hardly get anyone to call me back, they all said 2 months out to get a bid. Said fuck it, I finally got pavers installed, at 3x the price of concrete, looks better anyways. Got a reference for a paver guy from Jerry at River Action, he showed up when he said he would, quoted it on the spot, said he would show up in 3 weeks to do the work. He showed up 3 weeks later and knocked it out in a couple days. Thank You, for the guys that show up and do work and don't bullshit me.

So the concrete is the issue or to get a finisher?
Don't know, I couldn't even get anyone out to give me a bid. I think it's more of a case can't get anyone to work, when the government is paying them to stay at home

Does 10k sound right for a 24' x24' job?
Hmmmm....

We just did a patio close to that size in Riverside area for 4600. That was a 26 foot 3 course cinder block wall with brick cap, grading, rebar, 9 1/2 yards, pump truck, Finisher and two laborers. I'd be a little shocked if the price in Havasu was double, but who knows. The demand out there is probably driving the cost way up.

I have a significant job (still homeowner scale....) that I am delaying for at least 6 months due to these types of issues. I want to add a 15 foot apron to the entire back side of my shop and a sidewalk on the side. Total is about 2400ft. As I don't want to pull a second to pay for this and its been dirt for 60 years, its staying dirt for a little longer until sanity is showing back in the market. At some point the housing market will crash or at least soften and sanity will return.

Neighbor wanted concrete driveway at side of the house. Couldn't even get a bid.
I asked a friend/neighbor in the business and said they would even consider pavers. He didn't even come and look.
This happened years ago when Havasu was in a building boom and businesses wouldn't even talk to you.
Then the economy crashes and those businesses say Hey EZ can I have some work now? Nope.

Our truck as 1350 for 9 1/2 yards for the patio 3 weeks ago in riverside. Same truck about 6 years ago was 950. Pump guy stayed the same at 300.

No. Unless a lot of prep. Is it in Parker? I have a guy out there but few months out. That should be 7k for 4" slab.
This was a quote for my home in elsinore. Sounded crazy high but I haven't had work done in 20.years lol

In 2018 I called 3 concrete companies to redo my drive way in havasu, I sent pics and dimensions And drawing s of what I wanted

only 1 guy got back to me and it was like $11,000 and this was in 2018.

I can bring a crew out from San Diego feed em, house em and get em all sloppy drunk and be less than that

Is that with excavation, footings, forms and rebar, or just a patio slab on grade? Lots of variables.

When I read posts like that I instantly want to become a truck driver in Alaska. No phones, no people.

Try getting mud up on the mountain. It's always double the price per yard vs the valley from Robertsons.

Short load fee. Should of used a mixer for that small pour. We did 3 on Monday.
Fee seems worth it. 2 yards of ready mix in 90lb bags will be $350. Then you have to pay a guy to pick it up then mix 81 bags. You'll probably buy a couple bags of portland to add cream to the mix. At the end of the day after all that, the pour is a small rock mix that took forever to go off and have a good cleaning up to do. Just having a guy pick up the material and mix it is an extra 4 man hours.

I don't buy bags. A 6 sack mix is around $125 after tax. $27 a scoop $9.50 a sack or regular.
I pulled up with my dump trailer. Said what's up to the Guys. Julio I need 5 scoops 50/50 JR I need 16 regular. Go in pay and say what's up. Walk out hand them my ticket and tarp load and on my way.

My lead Guy brought mixer behind other truck. Set it up behind dump trailer and load from trailer into mixer.
The short load fee $300 and not paying the pumper another $300. So $600.

1 guy mixing 1 guy wheel Barrow 1 guy placing and finishing. When they wrte done they cleaned up and loaded dump trailer with the concrete we removed.
This was a 20x8 6" pad for a swim spa.

My guy will do 4500 psi, 4 1/2" forms, minimum grading, $5.50/sq ft. Pump extra if required. Two weeks out. He is a GC.

My tile guy told me today he has not seen such flat foundation work in a long time.

Rebar? Or Havasu they never use rebar for flatwork.
I had the driveway widened here in Havi and one of the contractors looked at me like I had 5 eyes across my forehead when I asked for metal in my slab. He said I must be from Orange County. Yep dad was a GC and I put a lot of concrete on the ground working for him.

Materials you say?? It appears on 1 inch and 1 1/4 inch tubing at the price of steel may have surpassed that of aluminum for the first time in history.

we’re getting some calls asking us to quote containers of aluminum it may be cheaper to build than steel for fencing.

I'm surprised this hasn't gained more traction other places. When I was in Florida I used these guys for a Saturday short load, I had to add on to some drop inlets. They charged by how much mud I used. Pretty neat set up, small bucket on a Kodiak chassis. It would be great for the homeowner that needs a small pour here and there.

Ok..25 yard job.some demo needed transferring dirt from my front driveway area to my back yard area. Alot of grading. 14k sound outrageous? I know it's hard to judge with seeing it. But is that way off?
