You will probably need a gas mask too. Bullet proof vest might be a nice companion item to go with the gas mask. Mace just in case you run out of ammo? Breath mints just in case the above fails. A condom just in case the breath mints don’t work. This is truly for your butts protection. Lube is optional, but I think that is going to be your captors choice, but you might want to, at the very least....... suggest it. Now your “Oh Shit” bag is truly packed!

Cant think of any other useful items.

I hope you guys find humor in the above. That’s how it’s meant. I have no I’ll will towards anybody on these forums. I am just being funny.

I once found a little first aid kit under the bench seat in my boat...everything was dry rotted and all the liquids were dried out.....real useful. :p The only thing worth a shit was the tweezers and scissors..except a little rust.. :p

Gas masks are a must if you go out the night before and have too much Heineken and Chinese food.....

Bug out bags for every member of the family in the house. First aid bag in every vehicle. Wife is a home health RN so the first aid bags are always refreshed every march. I live in the desert and everything dries out quickly in the heat. Ready for the zombie apocalypse at all times.

Give me all the old stuff you cycle through next time. I’ll give to the old lady so she can fix sucking chest wounds and get me back in the fight lol

I carry more of an IFAK... couple TQ’s, Israeli bandage or two, scissors, tape, gauze, pistol and rifle mags yadda yadda.

It’s always in my car and it’s always at work with me.
It probably doesn't mean much but I never post a picture of my firearms serial numbers. Always the other side.

Got the vest and the mask… passed on the condoms, mace, lube and breath mints. Went right to bear spray, cover yourself in that shit and the captors choice will be the next guy🤣

quarters, cell phone charger and cord /cable, TP, wipes and gloves, magnifying eye glasses - I can’t see shit! Although sense of smell works great...

I like wasp spray - it shoots like 25-35 feet! Extra mags for gun.

I never thought of a bug out bag, good idea

If you don’t have a way to protect what’s yours, people with weapons won’t barter, they’ll take from you.

Society is 3 missed meals away from total collapse.

None of us should under-estimate what others will do to feed their families/themselves.

If my family, my kid, are starving, I would do damn near anything to feed them.
And everyone else will have the same mentality.

Coming from California, I had one in my truck (Earthquake kits) I use the backpack idea in case you have to walk a distance. A few additions to think about but are not critical Aspirin/ Other Meds/ Tampons (good for wounds too) Whistle/Mirror/ Fishing kit (Line can be used for sutures) Needle/Alcohol Wipes.

Having one of these on the boat is good for some of the safety/medical gear, however where I boat the lakes are small in comparison to the ocean or the great lakes so the chances of being "on our own" for any length of time would be rare.

Still, the "insurance" of having this for you and your family is priceless, hope you never need it.

Tools on the boat is in a separate bag, They pretty much just stay on the boat until winter. Matter of fact, that may be a good follow up post to this one-what do you carry on the boat for a quick mechanical fix?

Good post, keeping us all informed and safe
