I got to go yesterday. A fog delay in the morning, but then golf everywhere until dark.

Got to see Keopka, DeChambeau, Mickelson, Garcia, Spieth, Shauffle, Ousthuizen, Bubba, DJ, Rory and all the others up close. Most of the grandstands were open for GA attendees. Crowds were minimal, not like the Farmers when I was there last time.

Food was poorly executed, with people in line for over an hour for a hot dog. Temps were warm during the day with cool morning and evening.

DeChambeau setting up on 17.

IMG_20210617_190609.jpg

Bubba on 15. From about 200 yards out, lands about 3 feet from the pin for a birdie. This was on 15.

IMG_20210617_190701.jpg

Sergio Garcia birdied Hole #1 from the sand. I think his drive was in a bunker, second shot in a bunker, and chips into the hole for a 3. Amazing. This pic is on 15 though.

Dustin Johnson on 15.

Phil, Max Homa and Xander on #1.

Also on hand were Paulina and Emma Gretzky. Emma had on the tightest nude color yoga pants ever made. We may have followed her for a while. LOL

I am so sunburned today. It was mostly cloudy yesterday and I had to wear a sweatshirt for a part of the day. It wasn't that warm, or that sunny, But today my face looks like a slab of Costco smoked salmon.

Love me some DJ.... that's one country boy who's way outta his water marrying into that family. Hot mess.... loved the pr story at Masters when he "slipped down stairs wearing sox to run help Paulina fetch groceries from car..." Somehow I don't see her bringing groceries in... much less even driving to get em, lol. My favorite is after he wins one and she comes over to kiss his tobacco filled mouth.... thats hilarious... oh I can imagine how she feels about that photo op.

Torrey Pines and SD showing well on TV. Been watching last 2 days. Brutal rough and fairways as wide as a small band aid, at least the way it looks from the TV screen. These US Open courses can really humble the pros. The rest of us duffers can relate.

And really cool it’s being held on a public golf course.

Wouldn’t surprise me if someone did..
My last boss loved some golf. We did a group event at shadow creek in vegas. His FIL, Gretzky, comes into the bar at the end of the round asking if anyone else had someone beat the club record without even trying. The group was partying pretty hard. They were playing behind us but we didn’t know. Just knew that balls were landing way past where our drives were

Honestly, the length and usual accuracy of the drives was pretty sobering. Their drives were waaaaay past where ours land. And some of those guys are just normal sized. The wispy tall kids really can generate some ball striking speed!

I played back in a tournament back in the day for Ontario Christian High School. They auctioned off the golf team and we picked one up. I had 70lbs on this Junior year kid and he was smoking every single one past me. And I'm no slouch (in my mind).

Bought tickets on Stubhub months ago for the US open, cheap also. Got a notice from them my tickets were canceled because of some restrictions. Still haven’t got my refund.

Watching in 4K. Crystal clear, can see the dimples on the ball. Finally some programming in UHD.

Did you guys see that huge rattler ambling around in the rough:oops: Rory went down there looking for his ball and made an immediate 180. Too funny!

Vivid memory of one of those nasty things about to enter our house in Fairbanks Ranch through the open sliding glass door. Thank god the dogs tipped us off. A baby that quickly got separated from its head.

I saw that. Announcers were pretty nonchalant about it. There must have been close to 10 rattles on it. Pretty good sized dude if you ask me. 😳

Coverage today was pretty nice. I'm still nursing my sunburn.

You all think Henley will stay on top? Maybe Oosty will get lucky? Phil is like 7 over... no chance.

I saw the paragliders.... but didn't realize it was someone on here...that's rad!!!

So true, the pros are super accurate which is so key. I always walk over one day each year when seniors role through playing Toshiba Classic .... I watch them warm up at driving range amazed at the shot after shot accuracy and consistency as they go through their bags.

Oosthuizen is up 2 strokes now. DeChambaeu needs to hit some fairways off the tbox.

Bryson’s bomb and gouge strategy isn’t working so much anymore. The Brooksie crowd and the rough may have been too much.

Love seeing another ASU boy take the W. That kid gets better and better as he continues to keep his emotions in check.

Also this. They didn’t know about the pitchfork so the comments are gold!
