I stopped watching tv quite awhile ago and honestly, while having to put a mask on a a few places recently, I wouldn't know there is anything wrong or who is even president for that matter. But I guess the world is coming to and end soon and I don't even know it. One thing I know for sure worrying about it isn't going to change anything but actually maybe contribute to my slow death. Head to the river, have a few beers, slam the old lady and few times, play with the kids if you have some and let everyone else worry about if the vaccine is killing you or not.

Want to make him really mad? Tell him AAPL stock gained more during Trump's 4 year term than Obama and Obama Jr's 8 year and 6 month term. 😂
correlation is not causation...this is for your information and for R&J.
What happens in the market is more a function of the fed policy than any political actor.

Correct, but when the uninformed credit or blame any president with the performance of the single stock they went on in on, while crying about that president constantly, yet are in jubilation over their returns during the same period... As you said, the kick to the nuts is teed up perfectly.

Is America on a path of permanent decline?
depends upon the measurement criterion and the flimsy idea of 'permanence'. All human things cycle because humans are very fickle. this particularly includes the measurement criterion : the U$D
This could change, but all prior doomsaying has been proven wrong. In a bayeseian world, Feder's diatribe is indicative of misplaced fears.
Feder neglected to mention how the 'victor' from WWII (USA) stood as the only industrial might that had not had its productive assets bombed to dust. that is a monumnetal oversight, so we have to ask if it was intentional.

You're attitude is all about your attitude, yes?

I remember my parents sayin "this country is going to hell in a handbag" over and over again.

Some on here have very much become their parents!

Glass half empty much?

Life is short, make it sweet!

Or, be an angry bitch. The Karen's welcome you with open arms. 👍👍

I always try to have a glass half full attitude, life is short and we never know when our last day is.

Two nights ago a teenage couple went to see a late night movie in corona and a 20 year old kid came up behind them and shot them, the girl passed away and the boy is on life support. No motive, no connection. I bet the friends and family of those two kids wish the only thing they had to complain about were politics and covid.

Dumb and happy is a way to live. For some of you, it works.

Well since you're so smart, what is the answer here?

Not trying to be a dick, but I'm really interested in what you're solution is.

Note: I'm hoping you will advocate for what Can be done. Not for the glass half empty view point of what needs to stop being done.

Go for it! The class is waiting...

Everyone is angry.
We are watching our country being destroyed.
We feel helpless and therefore angry.
50% of people think this ... and 50% think that ...
This much tension causes anger.
Everyone has learned they cant trust the government ... cant trust 90% of the news ... cant trust the FBI , can’t trust the NSA can’t trust the CDC ... most government entities reputations are in the toilet .
Everything we are being told has a political agenda.
We used to be a country of “Law and Order” .
Everyone is angry because 50% of America made a voting mistake ... now everyone has to pay.
I like your post, but what makes everything even worse is, your last sentence isn't correct, it was outright stolen with massive fraud.

Lol
I consider almost everyone on this site my friend and Allie.
Yet I would never broadcast any intention of any kind here.

Watch what happens now. Just posting that will get me accusations of threats...even though I’m like the most harmless person their is.

Point is, anyone that wants to do something to correct this already knows what to do.
The young man standing up in San Diego calling out the city council.
The HS students we see calmly calling out their school principals and school board members.
Parents doing the same.

All it takes is a little involvement. The hard part is that, as this thread demonstrates, almost all involvement s by the ones instigating the decay.
The rest of us are just too busy...
You know that the founding fathers were insurgents.
We have people in jail right now that tried to do something. The news calls them terrorists.
That’s hard to overcome.

Very well said. Totally agree.

You have to get involved to make a difference!

But small steps mater as well, especially on face to face level.

Getting people to see a different perspective is what Really makes a difference.

Angrily getting in someone's face, doesn't always work so well.

Calm works better than anger when trying to change someone's mind. 👍

I agree...however there is seemingly no way to reach many people today.
They are on a path to destroy the nation and words do not deter them.
Without going full Monty here just as an example they willingly dismiss video evidence and first person account of a mid 70’s age man pinching the nipple of an 8 year old girl...on camera.
How do you debate and try to convince a person that is ok with that of anything?
Sadly, I believe that before our lifetime is up the option of staying out of the fray will not be available.
I don’t mean that as a fatalistic view or gloom and doom...lol
I think it’s just that we are here at this point in time when the wave broke.
I find it absolutely fascinating to be witness/ and a part of this time in history.
Edit: When the mob entered Havasu last year I was down there on the corner.
There is video of me having calm and civil discussion with several of the BLM white college kids about what they were doing and why.
Some were calm, some were screaming and going crazy.
But that day. as well as other moments in my life, affirmed what I’ve known all along.
In confrontation I get very very calm. Anger never seems to be there. It’s weird.

Kind of a long post but think about it….

Is America on a path of permanent decline?

Don Feder, June 17, 2021

Men, like nations, think they’re eternal. What man in his 20s or 30s doesn’t believe, at least subconsciously, that he’ll live forever?

In the springtime of youth, an endless summer beckons. As you pass 70, it’s harder to hide from reality.

Nations too have seasons. Imagine a Roman of the second century contemplating an empire that stretched from Britain to the Near East, thinking: This will endure forever.

Forever was about 500 years, give or take.

France was the thing in the 17th and 18th centuries. Now the land of Charles Martel is on its way to becoming part of the Muslim ummah.

In the 19th and early 20th centuries, the sun never set on the British empire. Now Albion exists in a perpetual twilight. Its 95-year-old sovereign is a fitting symbol for a nation in terminal decline.

In the 1980s, Japan seemed poised to buy the world. Business schools taught Japanese management techniques. Today, its birth rate is so low and its population is aging so rapidly, that an industry has sprung up to remove the remains of elderly Japanese who die alone.

I was born in 1948, almost at the midpoint of the 20th century — the American century. America’s prestige and influence were never greater. Thanks to the Greatest Generation, we won a World War fought over most of Europe, Asia and the Pacific. We reduced Germany to rubble and put the rising sun to bed.

It set the stage for almost half a century of unprecedented prosperity. We stopped the spread of communism in Europe and Asia, and fought international terrorism. We rebuilt our enemies and lavished foreign aid on much of the world.

We built skyscrapers and rockets to the moon. We conquered Polio and COVID. We explored the mysteries of the Universe and the wonders of DNA, the blueprint of life.

But where is the glory that once was Rome?

America has moved from a relatively free economy to socialism — which has worked so well nowhere in the world. We’ve gone from a republican government guided by a constitution to a regime of revolving elites. We have less freedom with each passing year.

Like a signpost to the coming reign of terror, the cancel culture is everywhere. We’ve traded the American Revolution for the Cultural Revolution.

The poor fellow in the White House is an empty vessel filled by his handlers. At the G-7 Summit, we all saw Dr. Jill had to lead him like a child.

In 1961, when we were young and vigorous, our leader was too. Now a feeble nation is technically led by the oldest man to ever serve in the presidency.

We can’t defend our borders, our history (including monuments to past greatness) or our streets. Our cities have become anarchist playgrounds.

We are a nation of dependents, mendicants, and misplaced charity. Homeless veterans camp in the streets while illegal aliens are put up in hotels.

The president of the United States can’t even quote the beginning of the Declaration of Independence correctly. Ivy League graduates routinely fail history tests that 5th graders could pass a generation ago.

Crime rates soar and we blame the Second Amendment and slash police budgets.

Our culture is certifiably insane. We have men who marry men. Men who think they’re women. People who fight racism by seeking to convince members of one race that they’re inherently evil, and others that they are perpetual victims. A psychiatrist lecturing at Yale said she fantasizes about “unloading a revolver into the head of any white person.”

We slaughter the unborn in the name of freedom, while our birth rate dips lower year by year.

Our national debt is so high that we can no longer even pretend that we will repay it one day. It’s a $28-trillion monument to our improvidence and refusal to confront reality.

Our “entertainment” is sadistic, nihilistic and as enduring as a candy bar wrapper thrown in the trash. Our music is noise that spans the spectrum from annoying to repulsive.

Patriotism is called insurrection, treason celebrated, and perversion sanctified.

A man in blue gets less respect than a man in a dress.

We’re asking soldiers to fight for a nation our leaders no longer believe in.

How do nations slip from greatness to obscurity?
Fighting endless wars they can’t or won’t win
Accumulating massive debt far beyond their ability to repay
Refusing to guard their borders, allowing the nation to be inundated by an alien horde
Surrendering control of their cities to mob rule
Allowing indoctrination of the young
Moving from a republican form of government to an oligarchy
Losing national identity
Indulging indolence
Abandoning faith and family — the bulwarks social order.

In America, every one of these symptoms is pronounced, indicating an advanced stage of the disease.

Even if the cause seems hopeless, do we not have an obligation to those who sacrificed so much to give us what we had?

I’m surrounded by ghosts urging me on: the Union soldiers who held Cemetery Ridge at Gettysburg, the battered bastards of Bastogne, those who served in the cold hell of Korea, the guys who went to the jungles of Southeast Asia and came home to be reviled or neglected.

This is the nation that took in my immigrant grandparents, whose uniform my father and most of my uncles wore in the Second World War. I don’t want to imagine a world without America, even though it becomes increasingly likely.

During Britain’s darkest hour, when its professional army was trapped at Dunkirk and a German invasion seemed imminent, Churchill reminded his countrymen, “Nations that go down fighting rise again, and those that surrender tamely are finished.”

The same might be said of causes. If we let America slip through our fingers, if we lose without a fight, what will posterity say of us?

While the prognosis is far from good, only God knows if America’s day in the sun is over
Sir I think you have pretty much sumed it all up..... my hats off to you

Yep, I've got 16 years in as a paramedic and the past year it has gotten to the point I've thought about a career change. The entitlement thought process of the general population, constant berating or law enforcement, constant increase in liability, call volume through the roof, having to be masked up at all times on duty and mediocre pay, etc.

Years ago public service was a great job and it still is in many parts of the country, but in southern california it is no longer a career that I can say is worth it unless you can land a job with a large well funded fire department

Sent from my SM-G981U using Tapatalk
I've always missed running 911 calls, every day was a different day, no 2 calls the same, always made a 24hrs shift fly by but I just couldn't deal with the mediocre pay, lately I have found myself not missing it anymore.

FWIW - I just DGAF anymore so I'm never angry. Luckily, I don't have kids to worry about so it's easier for me not to care. I'm prepared for whatever comes. Frankly, I always thought I would be dead and gone before America implodes and becomes the next Rome. Now I'm pretty sure I'll still be here to watch the show. China is taking over the world folks and it doesn't look like we have the political will to stop it. Look for China to move on Taiwan, that's when the shit will really hit the fan. Everything else is just noise. Now go out and enjoy life while we still can and don't worry about things you can't control.

The arrows in the markets pointing what way you have to travel the aisle pissed me off and glad they are gone. The virus doesn't give a shit which way you travel an aisle. The 6 foot social distance shit pissed me off. I'm a stay 10 feet away type of person. Their stupid guideline of 6' shortened my radius by 40%. One thing I'm getting tired of and I've just turned off my ears is people having to tell me how to do things or feel they have to be enforcers of guidelines. Generally I'm a happy person and that's because I'm glad I wake up in my body and not someone else's.

I have made changes in my life to make it a more stress free, peaceful (internally) lifestyle. moving to havasu was one of those changes. the other which kinda started before moving was to ditch tv. that kinda happened as my tv took a shit and i wasnt willing to spend the money to replace it at the time. Another is i stopped reading news articles regularly. i still do on occasion take a look at headlines and will read some of the stuff that i want to know more about. i no longer put any focus on politics or covid or any of the social justice type bullshit and have taken steps to try and remove from my social media feeds. social media i use is IG and facespace, this forum, and glamisdunes. my feeds now consist 90% of car, boat, drag racing, and how make shit content. same with youtube. my "freinds" on facespace i interact with i will actually call to catch up or at the least text. ill post pics of things i do, pics i take, the steaks i cook shit like that, but i dont partake in the political repost after repost that alot of people do, nor do i post statements or "rants" about political, social, covid, whatever issues. It doesnt mean i dont care about shit, but for the sake of my own well-being i must ignore it all. i guestimate i ignore it 90% of the time.

so am i angry? 90%of the time i am not... that other 10% though.. well for that its like forest gump said, "life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what your gonna get"

I like your style & pretty much do the same thing

Even though I no longer own a boat I still consider this place, like the old hot boat a place to have fun, be myself, talk some shit & laugh. Like hanging with my boys. I’m sure I come off like a dick to some but anyone that know me personally knows I’ll always make time for a friend/inmate.

I use to get caught up in the back and forth. It was fun for a while.

When a subject gets moved to the political section I no longer participate.

There only one person on here on my ignore list and it’s not Grads.

Man anyone else finding themselves constantly angry. I thought this was a free country. Even my happy place “ going to the river” is fucked due to Ingines being scared of Covid and having there restrictions at the hotel. Then all day from the maskholes, to the the vaccine nazi’s, illegals , BLM BS, Politicians, hatred for cops and then this whole hate whitey attitude. Every things irritating me. View attachment 1031001

I understand your thoughts.

Remember...it it is consent of the governed, and I no longer consent to their governance, Thus, I am not going to live by their rules. No more masks, no more social distancing not more shots,, etc.

it only works if you comply. I am simply refusing to comply with any order which I consider unreasonable.

WTF! So America goes thru a little upheaval, some adversity, puts a little crimp on ones lifestyle, elects someone from an opposing party, does something you don’t like or agree with and all of a sudden America is fucked up, in decline and nearing it’s end.? All because it’s not the wonderland you partly remember growing up in? Sure am glad our American Pioneers didn’t think like you.
All I’ve got to say is America isn’t even close to being done and we’ve not seen our finest hour or our worst period. We’re only 250 years into this.
America and Life are like a River, the rapids are tough times and the calm stretches and pools between are our good times, and in the end every River ends in a lake/sea/ocean = Good times.
So quit your whining, get your mindset right, cause positive attitude is everything and then you’ll realize, we got it pretty fucking good compared to other countries and the real tough times in American history that were much worse. Here’s just a Few of the many hard periods in American history we bounced back from and all were twice as bad as current times.

-American Revolution- in the early days of the war we were getting our butts kicked by the British.
-Articles of Confederation/pre-Consitution years- our economy was a disaster.
-The War of 1812- British Invasion almost resulted in the destruction of our country.
-Civil War- Our country was killing itself, but no matter which side won, we would still exist.
-Post Civil War Reconstruction Years and Depression- Impacted the South primarily
-Great Depression- Economic catastrophe that lasted 12 years.
-World War II- Forget the jingoism for a moment. For four years it was deprivation at home and 12,000,000 soldiers overseas.
-The 60s and 70s.- Vietnam & the war protests, civil rights movements, Kent State. Nixonomics. Inflation. Stagflation.
Now tell me again how bad we have it………

I took two days off to make sure my wife’s 30th birthday is a hit. Still a bunch of work to do. I’m so thankful we can pull this off [emoji16]

I was snd at times still really angry . I can honestly tell you turning off all news , facebook ,instagram and staying out of the political section has really helped me . The statement ignorance is bliss is very true .

This. Although I do check out the dungeon probably once a week.

I think it was Obamas first term that I quit watching ANY news. Why have some program libtard decide what news you get? I read headlines mostly, and will read the article if it interest me. I am on the computer about 2 hours each morning and won't see any other news until the next morning, unless my wife brings up something she saw somewhere,

Quit facebook and this is probably the only social media I do read. Much happier when you don't have the bullshit contently put in your face.

Stuff like this helps.

It is about dogs, so ok to click it.

I hope the OP is feeling better. Alot of the feelings that were expressed are based in things that people have no control over. they are concerned with remote conditions and faraway actions of strangers and/or election whores.

the most effective and calm were definitely in a state of mind where they recognize their own sphere, and act locally for change, for example by calmly interacting with others.

those who are placid - who achieve peace - recognize their sphere and relinquish the outer sphere, the distant uncontrollable things.

that's because the easiest thing to do is change yourself rather than try to change others.

to control your own environment, like switching off the TV or any irritating media (including small media) that disserves your happiness.

USA honors your right to pursue happiness, but your path of pursuit is more important than a faraway ineffectual person or environ. get off the happy path and its your own fault, nobody else's

if you find yourself unhappy, expressing violent intent (even if undirected), or making amoral justifications and tradeoffs, you are no different from a jihadist.

You’ve gone too far Lucy.
You just said anyone who doesn’t chant kumbaya is a jihadist.
Excuse me if I don’t let you judge me today.

Edit: I see you also posted elsewhere that anyone not wearing a mask is an “ignoramus”?
Nice work!

Outstanding post! 👍

I don't want to get into all of the politics and nonsense we are being force-fed. That's too involved of a discussion to try and type out on a smartphone. I'll keep it somewhat simple.

When we wake up in the morning, we should be grateful that we did. Thank God for your health and well-being. If you need a reality check, go read some other posts to see how lucky we all are. If you're married to a beautiful woman who also wakes up next to you, there's a second thing you should be grateful for. If you married a troll, well, then you have to skip that one. 😁

If you are lucky enough to have a family, who also wakes up in the morning, then be thankful. There are folks who can't have children or those who have lost children due to unforeseen circumstances. Be thankful those things haven't happened to you. It continues like this throughout your day. We need to look at all of the things we are blessed with on a daily basis that we take for granted, and need to remember to be thankful.

People need to try to be more kind towards one another. There is MORE than enough anger in this world, and by adding to that, you aren't making things any better.

I was reminded of this at work the other day. I introduced a new employee to someone I worked with. That employee told the new employee "You are so lucky to be with him (Referring to me), he is the nicest guy!" I was blown away and humbled by that comment. I truly was, and it made me realize that I was carrying myself in a manner that I could be proud. That's how I want to be known.

I work with some people that are great to be around, and I work with some of the biggest assholes I've ever met. Complete pieces of shit. And it's a friendly reminder of how I don't want to be viewed by my peers. I don't want to be like THOSE people. At work, I get to see people in their worst moments and I sometimes deal with some extremely shitty people. That fuels my passion to NOT be like them. It's a choice that I've made and I'm happy I have.

I don't live in a bubble and I'm not oblivious to the current affairs. I've had to struggle through life and it hasn't been easy. Financially, emotionally, etc. I've had to claw my way out of a giant hole to be where I am today. I've been divorced, lost longtime friends and have an ex-wife who has ruined my relationship with my younger son. That's a story for another day.

I've since been blessed with an amazing young woman who was stupid enough to marry me. With her, came two little boys who have since started to grow up, and they challenge my patience daily. My wife is a beautiful, sexy and intelligent woman who drives me crazy. Her only mistake in life is when she said "Yes." 😁 She's my angel and I wouldn't be where I am today without her.

The post about the guy sitting in the gray car who snapped at you because you were admiring his car.... Well, he was probably just having a rough day. Kill him with kindness, compliment him on his nice ride, and make him feel like a douchebag for responding to you the way he did. That's what I would have done. 😁

We all have a LOT to be thankful for, and we just need to remember that from time to time.

I can handle all your anger and hatred, but what worries me is, you all own gun's and some of you have freaking armories......

..

The goal is to worry the “officials” who feel the need to make up these assinine rules…

“Of the people, for the people”…has been mostly been ignored as of late…

Very good post.

I think it’s important to differentiate between the shepherds and the sheep...on both (or any) side.

I have done the same, it's gotten to when I walk in the Door and the wife is watching World News Tonight she will turn it, I tell her based on the very little I just heard it's the end of the world, too much negativity.....My problem is it engages me and changes my mood....Don't need it.
