As i look at the motors i noticed that a lot of these boats have turbo charged motors - is there some reason that so many of these tow boats use turbos?

Why not just have a big block or blown motor? It seems so many performance boats use those already...why turbos?

I believe they are blown small blocks.. Word on the street is he's building some new boats that are even going to be more off the hook.

Turbos are more reliable for marathon racing and have better throttle response(slower and less jerk on the rope). Although Randy Davis does real well wioth his mercury Blower motors as well as Avilas twin small block motors.
