When I go to outdoor events (such as the LaVerne car show this past weekend) I always look to see how well the patrons are protected by the barriers in place. It's a pretty sad world we now live in having to think like this while attending any show. This LAVerne event had U-Haul trucks blocking off all points of entry into the show. I thought that was an in-genius affordable way to block off the streets and my compliments to those that organized the event...

Burglars would be hung from lampposts, and shoplifters would be beaten and tossed into the gutter if there were no police, as in fact happens in countries where there isn’t a reliable justice system and a civil-society culture that restrains vigilantism.
