Need to find some carbs for my 1776 engine that I bought for my 67 bug, prefer dellortos
Might have the perfect set for you. I have a pair of dellorto 40's on my motor but I'm going blow thru EFI. They were just rebuilt by a well respected guy on The Samba. I promised him I'd give him the 1st chance if I sold them but I can let you know if he doesn't want them.

I really want to hit this but I have a previous BSA commitment this weekend.

On the one hand the rules state: “mo personal weapons” but on the other hand: concealed means concealed:

What to do?

Sorry to side track - Anyone know what the deal is with the red 65ish bug sitting on the side of the house on S. Kiowa at Weldon (been there so long it's even on google street view and it appears Google hasn't been up that street in at least 2 years). Has a nice polished motor is dropped and has Porsche Alloys on it. But it just sits out year after year rotting in the sun on the side of the dudes house. Every time I pass it, I'm like, "I'd take that!" LOL

Working on this one.

I'm needing more power, had the motor dropped and leaks cleaned up along with the wiring but had to take the advance timing down to 30 as it was set to 40......

Who's got some used parts? wanting a -4 beam.... How much power can I get with not changing out to a irs system and buss trans?

Here's my 66. I'm in the process of installing a new headliner and then I'll wrap up the blow through turbo

If you need or want more Power. Check out PowerHaus VW in Torrance. My Buddy John builds some nice turn key engines.

The trans is like an old ford...drive nice and they'll be nice back. If you want to build a box, you can build a swing axle pretty stout. All the normal stuff, like HD side covers, diff and gears, but should gusset the case for structural integrity. Seen a ton carry the front on a launch.

Is there a link for this event so I can see details?
I haven’t seen the link. My Brother is into buses and goes to all these things. He calls me when he goes and I go check out the hardware. When we were kids that’s all we did is work on our bugs. He still does and I wish I would have kept the ones I had. If you go to these you would recognize his bus bay window green roof with bottle caps around the perimeter.

Cause I’m new to this. I have a swing axel now it’s a 65’? The IRS are buss trans correct? Never can remember.

Was thinking a built swing axle form Wright or Rancho, there are a few others too and 120hp motor.

Sort of. Newer bus trans are irs, but that doesn’t mean irs are bus trans. Type 1 swing and irs are basically the same trans. Different axle.

Early bus was a swing axle with a flipped ring gear and reduction boxes(portals). Later bus boxes are IRS, so it gets more in depth to put one in a swing axle car. The torsion housing needs to be modified for trailing arms, and the shift rod is about 2 1/2 inches higher, so that needs to be addressed as well.

Bug glass, fronts, rears and sides. One of my son's friends left a stack in my shop 4-5 years ago and they're free to anyone that wants the stack. I have no idea what years they fit.
