Chris, can you share a picture of what the VIN looks like since this is registered as a home built trailer? Did you end up with a sticker, or???? How did that work and what does it look like?
No Vin yet. I need to take it to AZ and have them inspect it. They require you to have your receipts for the materials you bought. Metal, wheels, tires, etc. Show proof that you actually built a trailer. Right now I'm just riding dirty.

Would these solve your issue of forgetting to add rear tie down points?

Trailer and boat turned out amazing dude!
I ended up getting these. Will drilled into the trailer and bolt it in. I didn't want the buckles cause its too big and would clutter up the rear end. Trying to keep it simple and clean haha

It is slammed! I need to chop the axles and raise it an inch or two. Pretty fucking happy how everything turned out.

Still waiting on couple steering items and hopefully test next week.

Enjoy!

Ain’t that crazy. You gotta pay taxes on something you built yourself with items that you paid taxes on…
Asinine.

Bought some cheap wing plate. Cutting it up and making a template for a new one. IMCO doesn't sell a kit for the set back using this swivel bracket. . Rather than wasting $750 for a plate. Figured I'll make one.

Need a new custom wing plate, for a custom motor that has a built-in setback? No problem! My name is ChrisV and I can make that! Here, hold my boba! 😁👍

Yes and no. I still get anxiety cause I'm always rushing things and tend to forget something stupid.

Same. Always happy when the horse trailer made it another night without burning to the ground.

Did I miss what the center tabs were for? Looks to be mounted on the rear crossbar right above the taillight.

Thanks for posting up your adventure Chris. You may not know it but many like myself are learning though your experiences. I was talking to a younger man at Pirates today that had a boat that he wanted a bit more power. I told him about your journey and to look up your RDP thread. Keep the content coming. 👍

Started chopping the axles yesterday. Was a pita it is. Especially being super heavy.

Did a quick trip to Havasu this morning. Friend got a boat that's been sitting for 3 years. Said he'll give me money to get it running. 🤷🏻‍♂️ On the way there I randomly bumped into my dad. He said he was going to Laughlin but ended up going to Parker. (Yes he loves red.)

What are your plans on the axles? Obviously this will change the ride height, but man it sure looks bitchen the way it sits!!

Drilled the rear anchors. Glad I did this instead of the buckles.

One thing my wife requested was a Bimini top. Especially with a one year old it's tough to be out for a long time. Bought this Bimini off Amazon for $160. Kinda gives me a template to make the tubes out of stainless later on.

Chopping it up and making it shorter. Low pro Bimini looks great imo. Good thing we're a small short Asian family so height shouldn't be a problem.

Bimini tops are a must with kiddos. Your boat is amazing, as are your skills, and I am sure your bimini top is going to be lowered and bad ass!

Ohhh the mounting area of the center tabs are well hidden. Using the cleats for tie downs is a nice touch too 👌🏽

Moving forward I’m gonna just WWCVD everytime I mod the Baja.

Can you share some fotos of the wankel?!?

Finally took the boat out after messing with the ride height. Got it to where I want it to sit. Raised the trailer over all 1.5" but I lowered the fender .75"

This is what the tab is for. Holds up the drive to keep it bouncing around.
EC8B39DB-07C5-4D77-9274-54DE9B59FC33.jpeg

Wasn't the greatest conditions but at least I got it out. With this shorter drive it's a whole new boat. Coming off plane i would need to blip the throttle or water will soak the cowl. Ain't trying to hydrolock this engine.

Also, I would have to come off throttle slowly if I have the jack plate up. Or else the skeg wouldn't be in the water and rear end would slide. Almost wrecked this thing. 😝

The Rx7 my guy. To be fair I wrote that after a long night of billiards at Cornish Pasty.

The tab makes sense. I push pin is clean too 👌🏽

Everything is clean. Excited for the next build if this is you “rushing it” haha

Thats why its kind of a rush build. After hrs at work. I'm slammed as shit at work too.

But honestly I stopped drinking two years ago and that really helped with time. Low key crackhead.
