My neighbor out at the river just heard Lost Lake is on fire and mandatory evacuations issued. He just took this photo from Ehrenberg.... Hope they get it out QUICK!!

It WAS a RV park just north of Lost Lakes a few miles. The sign is still there, but...

The word is the Indians couldn't seem to negotiate a new lease, and just decided to burn it down. I'm gonna guess @BoatCop knows a whole lot more than me about the facts surrounding this.

My place is on that row that the last pic was taken from. There's quite a bit of desert out there before the highway and lots of mesquite to burn. The firetruck is in the park and there is plenty of free space to defend the homes there. They land helicopters on that grass filed all the time. Im not worried..........be there tomorrow night.

Hope all is good can see huge plume of smoke from Parker. Damn wind is starting to blow up here. Used to be on the volunteer fire dept. at Aha Quinn many years ago when I lived there.

Think the deal was the leases werent payed or renewed.CRIT went in told residents they had a certain amount of time to get out which wasnt much then dug a trench around the place so if stuff wasnt removed you had no way to get in or out then burned the place down is story i got from people near by.

My buddy who sold his house there a few years ago sent me this text... "I just talked to one of my buddies he said the whole entrance to Lost Lake is on fire even the sign above nobody can get in or out and a lot of people did not evacuate so they're hurrying up and putting their boats in the water because there's no other way out"... That does not sound good!!! Hope they can keep it away from the houses. The entrance is a ways away for the houses, but its all heavy brush area.

We have friends at Lost Lake. They evacuated earlier. Fortunately they and their pups are safe in Parker with a place to stay. They were told to expect helicopter water drops at their place.

I get that but dont understand how it gets out of control . Military and civil fixed wing every where around there to dump water . This is not a forrest fire of pines . Again i hope everybody stays safe .

I am guessing they are focused on protecting LL more than anything else. I think it is about 6 miles to the next park, Hidden Valley.
