Of course.

You are an American Capitalist. That is a far cry from a laissez faire capitalist. Nor do you practice austrian economics.

Do yourself a favor and familiarize yourself with the trilateral commission. I know you remember it. You donā€™t need a conspiracy site...you can use the left wing site https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trilateral_Commission

Our system is rigged at the top. You have to be willing to get in the mud and elect those that will fight! Bend like a willow or break like an oak.
Why would an American capitalist such as myself want to end the system that made America the leading economic power, the exact system that allowed Trump and others to succeed economically?

A system that allows the poorest of Americans to succeed and experience the American Dream! A system far superior to all others in the world.

You missed my point. American Captalism has NEVER been capitalism as you describe. Going back to Reaganā€™s statement about ā€œmagic of marketsā€. Itā€™s been a global domination play that unfortunately is ending...itā€™s not a soft landing. Very rigged including China. Unfortunately, we did not teach them...they taught our elites that communism/fascism is the way forward (state capitalism). The elites from both parties are getting filthy rich, riding the country down. Managed decline. Time to take your pure ideology hat off...we are so far from that...itā€™s not even funny. America first, stop the half ass fairy tale that we are engaged in fair trade. Go back to studying austrian economics and it will be clear to you.

I appreciate and respect your view. My experience coming from nothing is different.

So you follow your views and I shall follow mine. After all, that is the American Dream. Freedom to pursue what we each think is best. šŸ‘

Agreed. I also come from NOTHING. But iā€™m a gen xā€™r. Latch key kind that trusts nothing. Out country is evaporating. Mostly a spiritual war with god fearing vs. worm food atheist marxists. Iā€™m concerned for my children that will struggle and they are street smart and honors, A students with level heads...now in NC. We must throw the establishment cunts off of our country! You and I and many on this board are Reganites...he was a dem. George Washington was absolutely against political parties. We didnā€™t listen. Look what happened to CA.

Why am I not surprised that you would back an individual that has their children attend drag queen shows?

I'm fairly confident Lake will win.

The D's are actively recruiting Independents to strategically vote for her in the R primary. After all, Independents may vote in either primary in Arizona if they so choose. Perfectly legal, very strategic. šŸ¤”šŸ¤”

I really don't give a rat's ass. I just want MAGA candidates to run. If the RINO's & Dem's cross over, cheat, whatever, let's get to the blood in the streets and the real fix.

Yore ESG & Wall Street boys are the real problem, can't wait. šŸ‘

Iā€™m still undecided. I like what Lake says, how aggressive she is but I still donā€™t know if I trust her.

Found out yesterday through the same contact that told me Salmon was out, 2 weeks before he announced he was out, Lake actually knocked on doors for Obama.

To swing from actively campaigning for Obama to getting behind Trump, seems nearly politically impossible.

That said, I still donā€™t know.

Yes, Ducey is a bit of a Rino. But Heā€™s never changed political parties like he changes his underwear like Lake has. She might be the real deal, but might not.

I can see how with todays political, social, and economic climate, people may very well change political sides to the right. I have a couple die hard leftists at work that are finally seeing the light. I donā€™t necessarily think changing parties is a bad thing. Iā€™d rather take my chance with Lake. Iā€™ve seen her fight our liberal union tooth and nail.

As a former business partner of yours told me, you are a smart business guy so lets look at this from that standpoint.

Lake has promised to build the wall that Trump did not finish. The governor of Arizona has no authority to build a wall. Arizona has virtually no land on the border in which to build a wall. Border security is solely a responsibility by law of the federal government. It can not be legally done. It is unconstitutional both in the federal and state constitution. Further, the state budget is about 17 billion. Where would the billions necessary come from? Would the state populace agree to a large increase in taxes to fund it when we are near the bottom in education as an alternative?

Lake has promised to attack the cartels in Mexico. The governor of Arizona has no authority to engage in war or military/police activities in a foreign country. WTF?

Lake has promised to send the National Guard to stop border incursions. The governor of Arizona has no authority to send the NG to the border and engage in such activity, that is the sole legal authority of the federal government.

And the list could go on.

You are a smart business guy. If someone walked into your office and promised a bunch of stuff you logically knew was a fallacy at best, a lie at worst, you would tell them to get the fuck out of your office. Why not now?

On a subjective basis, the democrats want nothing more than to run against Lake. That is why they are pushing left leaning independents to vote for her in the R primary. They do not want to run against any of the other R candidates with their weak candidate. And more importantly, the Dā€™s understand the R candidate for governor will have a down ballot effect on the attempts to beat Kelly.

Arizona has serious problems and the governorā€˜s job is a tough job that demands high quality organizational skills to manage. Is a former news anchor with no organizational experience the best person for the job, based upon your business judgement? Can they address the educational issues of funding going to liberal arts programs as opposed to building community college trade schools teaching students real skills for sustainable employment? Can they build an organization of highly skilled leaders to improve the states results? Or are they just selling red meat to the base without any core competencies to achieve results?

People should vote for whomever they wish, but when they do not accomplish false promises they make, no one should blame anyone but themselves. I donā€™t vote in the R primary as a registered I. But I can assure you that Reagan Republicans, Ducey Republicans and R leaning independents are more likely to support some other R in a general than they would for Lake. Dlow brings up a good point in the sense that some L leaning independents and even Dā€™s are leaning right, but who are they more likely to actually pull the lever for? Lake or any of the others?

As weā€™ve previously discussed, campaign rhetoric is just that.

I need to have an honest candidate. All the Gubernatorial candidates AND R Senatorial candidates claim theyā€™re going to ā€œfixā€ the border.

I expect whom ever wins to have very little effect on the porous border we have now.

Doucey was not a bad Governor. He made some hard decisions about Covid that I would not have made.

But by and large his administration was silent and mostly out of the news. As a businessman, he had a workmanā€™s style management. No news means their just working.

I truly put much value in my vote.

Also, he was my boss and I respect him very much. He was a very good role model and teacher. (RG)

For me it is not campaign rhetoric, it is a reflection of how much they respect the intellect of the voter. šŸ¤”šŸ¤”

Honesty.

The electorate are largely uneducated anymore and have allowed external influence to form their opinions

Back to the book I mentioned yesterday. The founders highly valued a well educated electorate.

Which is why Iā€™m so skeptical

Edited for clarity, because I have no idea what you think education has to do with immigration, except that schools get overcrowded when you dump a bunch on non tax payer students in schools.. Frankly people should be home schooling at this point, if they want to recognize their kids at age 18.

But your constant statements that responding to the border is illegal and unconstitutional is flat wrong. Article 1, section 10.

"No State shall, without the Consent of Congress, lay any Duty of Tonnage, keep Troops, or Ships of War in time of Peace, enter into any Agreement or Compact with another State, or with a foreign Power, or engage in War, unless actually invaded, or in such imminent Danger as will not admit of delay."

Why do you think the counties in Texas are "declaring invasion?" Why do you think they are trying to pressure Abbott to declare same?

And frankly, they have plenty of room to stand there. If the governor of a state, like say Arizona, decided they wanted to stop the people and material of war (AKA drugs, I mean Fentanyl is only killing 100+ thousand Americans a year at this point) from crossing the border, and they declared that the imminent danger would not stand to the delay being caused by Garland and Mayorkis, then they have absolute constitutional right to defend their state.

Excellent post. My skepticism is rooted in ages of political promises to curb, slow or stop illegal immigration, with zero results, other than Trump.

I think for most of the candidates, itā€™s just focus group rhetoric.

I donā€™t believe a fucking word out of any of their mouths.

Trump proved his capacity and ability through action.

Your legal argument is that states can determine when to declare war against a foreign government or declare independently if they are being invaded. They can independent of the federal government make that determination.

Some would argue the supremacy clause would take precedence?

Interesting argument filled with all sorts of possibilities for liberal states to use in ways not supported by myself.

Certainly not where I would want the camels nose. šŸ¤·šŸ¤·šŸ¤·

Better than sitting on your ass watching your state "go to hell" in Biden's hand basket. ;)
Do you have a better solution to offer?
