For shitz & giggles I built my 21 f350 platinum on the site yesterday and my msrp of 85.7k was 96k to build the same truck with the HO engine with certain options missing like the 11k suspension and 3.55 gear ratio on SRW trucks.

They're breaking up the ordering into 2 segments. 1st group will be limited options until spring. Supposedly options like the 3:55 gear ratio will be available in the 2nd group later in the year.

I'll look again in 24. LOL! 😂

I read somewhere that Ford is going to bankroll their electric vehicles by jacking the shit out of its hot selling trucks / suvs

About right... I ordered the same truck as my 17 Lariat F250, it's 8k more but I did add power steps this time, $950 through Ford or $1500 from Amp? Everything else is the same, no other crazy options to slow down the build they mentioned it being a F250 and Oxford White might work in my favor...

I can't stomach that much money for a work truck. My last brand new truck was an 04 Silverado K3500. It was $43,000 and like $743 a month for five years. I thought that was insane at the time. I can't see spending double that. F me. I have house payments less than those payments would be.

I'm waiting to buy River Royal's next trade in! LOL

I actually hope the truck gets delayed. I need to replace it by the end of next year (for work reasons) but it looks like I need to order very soon or I won't get a '23. With my luck it will show up in early '23. You can't win.

For giggles I looked online and found a 2022 F 250. $89,000 plus tax and license. Payments showed at $1376 a month and that's if I hand over my current F -150.

Trucks are getting expensive.

I got my truck at 2% under invoice. I’m into it for 60k and it’s just a xlt gasser.
I wouldn’t even consider selling it for less than 67k if I let it go for less what the hell could I replace it with a 1/2ton maybe?

Well I put a deposit down on a '23 F350 Lariat diesel (std) on Saturday. The order says Job #1, but I sure hope it takes a long time to arrive.

Interior looks blah and dated compared to others.
It will be interesting to compare as I have a current gen Ram Cummins Laramie with the 12" screen. Hopefully It's not like going back in time.

You should have received an email from Ford when your order was confirmed allowing you to track your vehicle. It will show the order accepted, then a production date set, date built and date shipped.

Then you can track it and know exactly when it is coming in. You should have received an order confirmation such as this.

Keep us posted. Be interested to see who gets what first, I bought a 2022 Bronco that should be here Saturday in the meantime expecting the truck to take the full year!

They told me to expect late April as the Platinum’s and Tremor’s will be started slightly after the XLT’s and Lariats. 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

I just bought a 2022 Ram with the big screen. It's cool, but not going to lie, I have to shut it off at night because I can't see out the front windshield. I love the Apple Car Play though. I also like being able to use my WAZE app with the screen.

Why 3.31 and not the 3:55 or 3:73?

You must do allot more empty driving than towing?
You can only get the 3:55 with a diesel engine and SRW if you add the Tremor package.

All other trim Diesels in SRW are 3.31 and the only option is whether or not to get the locker.

If you want 3.73 or 4.30 it is gas engine only. Tremor and gas is 4.30 only.

If you want a 4.10 and diesel, you must go to DRW. Otherwise is is 3.31.

I knew about the 4:30 for tremor and 4:10 for dually and 3:73 for f350.

I thought you could 3:55 and 3:73 on anything else.

I wonder why they do that?

Yep was bummed on that knowing I would be putting 37's on it too. Kept switching to gas when I selected the different ratio...

Yes was stuck with the 3.31, and it will be interesting to see as I'll be going from the stock 34.1" tires to a 35.1". Although spoke to a friend that has the 10 speed and the 1,050 torque with 35s and he said it pulls it in 10th gear just fine.

I was reading much debate on gearing in the ford forums. It was overwhelming that most think you need really low rear end gears like 4.30. Contrary to that though, one good point I read was that with the 10 speed you can easily drop a gear, but you can't go to 11th or 12th gear if your rear end ratio is low. Basically what they were getting at is we need to rethink what we know about rear end ratios, as that knowledge was gathered over the years with 3, 4 and 5 speed transmissions (and half the torque). It's an interesting thought. Maybe this is Ford's way of forcing people to unlearn what they have learned over the years and help fuel economy?

As far as the gear ratios are concerned. I don't think you'll have an issue at all with 35s on your truck. The power band in my 2021 F350 single rear wheel on 37s with 355 gears is over at about 2000 RPM. 1750 to about 1900 is it sweet spot when towing, you can feel the grunt go away over 2000 RPM..

It has more to do with where the torque band peaks. I have done some reading on what was available in gear ratios for the 23s and it appears they are saving the 355 gears for the tremor packages for the first phase. the 3.55 should be available the second half of the year. So there must be a supply issue with the 3.55 gear set.

That's my understanding for the 1st phase of the 23 builds. As mentioned above I thinks its a supply issue with the 3.55 gear sets

Getting a load to start moving is much harder to do than it is to keep a load moving.

Everyone likes to argue that they can drop a gear if they need to.

Well if you had a higher gear ratio you wouldn’t need to. And you could have the advantage on take off as well.

I never thought you would have a problem with the 3.31 but given a choice I would want higher for sure. Kinda sucks they limit you.

My 7.3 gasser has 4:30’s and I love it

I just read an interesting thread on gearing in the ford forum, kind of blows my mind. Someone ran a gear calculator and came up with this:

a 2019 with a powerstoke and the 6 speed with 37s would need a 4.36 rear gear to equal a newer 10 speed with 37s and 3.31s to make the first gears equivalent. That's nuts.

Like you guys are saying, we've got so many gears now and so much torque it will be fine. I would still have chosen the 3.55 if I could have but I'm not worried about the 3.31s. My boat is only 7k lbs anyway.

The flip side to just dropping a gear, is that your rpm will be very low in the top gears, so they may or may be as useable.

I ordered a 23' with the Ultimate package. Pretty excited as I haven't had a new truck in over 10 years. We'll see how long it takes.

I just took a trip from Williams Arizona to Hastings Minnesota to pick up a 5th wheel. This was my average heading up there empty. Coming home in 35 mile an hour headwinds was a whole different story..

28-30ft, either living room or dining area in back so i can see river.
I tried to target the units that were built between 2002 2008 from the higher end builders. The build quality after that went downhill in my opinion.

Nothing yet on my F350 order. I did receive an email at the 45 day mark from initial order stating they were experiencing delays. But no vin or build date for me.

Just received an email, got a VIN and said production starts on week of 2/6!!!
Excellent.

I’ve been told due to it being a Platinum as well as having the fifth wheel tow option that I will be waiting.

The shipping did go up 100 bucks from 1795 to 1895.

Come on now, playing chicken waiting for GM and Ram to announce? He said Lariat and lower trim levels are faster to get, he's thinking maybe 4-6 months to get. I think I'll go order an F350 Lariat with the std diesel.
