We just rolled into the dunes and it was an additional $40 for one holiday week entrance fee.
That in addition to the $20 we spent last week to get in.
24 months ago it was free. My how things change.

Keep your recipts, they can eventually be applied toward an annual pass.
Suckremento is sitting on the annual passes BTW.

The services are still here.
The Sheriffs have their cell tower up so we can access the net at least.

Occasional strong gusts of wind, and folks are just starting to arrive.

They moved Vendors row closer to the Hells Anvil flats,, so this little quiet corner is no longer quiet.

We were hoping to have the new Kawasaki Terex SxS,, but Kawai has pushed back delivery until late Feb.

We'll post a video or pix if anything of interest pops up.

Untill then, we're going to be TOTALLY safety first in our dune adventures.

some friends and I were planning on going there this year but with fuel prices going up everyone backed out and I didn't want to flip the bill to tow the trailer 700 miles 1 way either

We'll look for him.
Usually see him Sat nites.

Saturday is balls out nite at Competition Hill.
Everyone is going home the next day, so they push their machines to the limit.
Prior nites are kinda conservative so the ride will hold up for the holidays.

Dave

Thanks everyone.

So far seems like a much smaller crowd than years past.
The Orig Sandemon, Pres of Friends of Dumont Dunes came by with his wife last nite.
They convinced the BLM to can Western maint from being the dunes operator.

Now FoDD or Friends of Dumont Dunes will be very involved in collecting fees.
They collected twice what was expected last year. That was a shocker.

The radical enviros got control of the green sticker money, so now venues have to support themselves locally.

Enough money was collected to pay all the LEOS OT and (quality) rooming, vehicles, ect, ect, helicoptor life flite support, and dune maint.
One car dealer wanted to donate free vehicles to the LEOS, but the red tape rules and regs of such a donation are brutal.

Alice got stuck frame deep on probably the hardest, tallest, steepest dune in the neighborhood last nite.
But we got her free.
Other than that, lots o fun.

She'll be running her Superbowl Sandbar / Kawasaki Kantina again this Superbowl if anyone is interested out here at Dumont.
She has a cool Kawasaki Tiki hut she sets up and it'll be an open bar (21) and food.
Wind permitting.

Last time, two Swiss guys than own a dunebuggy company in Phoenix came by and damn they were interesting and funny people.
They have eyes opening stories of how good Americans have it compaired to Euros.
They speak all the Swiss languages & the goofy one too as does Alice.
You can met the movers and shakers of the duning world.
Hope some of you can make it.
It's fun.

OK,, time to unlock, refuel and head out on the quads.
