Always loved that boat. I came close to buying the Tube of Fools from Dick Jones, who got it from Bill Simpson, but was in the middle of my Vector build at the time. Congrats on getting it!!!

That's a great fuel set up. Even if the mechanical pump can't keep up with that beast at WOT you have enough volume in the surge tank that it will never be an issue.

Look at the covers on the sides of the fuel tanks. Do you think they put fuel bladders inside the fiberglass tanks?

I was having the same issues when my tanks got low. Surge tank solved it.

Read back, He tried a different drive & prop. Sometimes motor issues only show up under load. I'd do a leak down.

This is great info! I didn't know they were using v-drives in offshore boats at that time.

I think there are a lot of people on RDP that find this very interesting. Good on fuel, halls ass and I'll bet it will take some pretty decent chop.
