Careful driving around in the snow

Turns out a bunch of states are short snowplow drivers. I wonder why? It is so strange and confusing. https://www.ktvu.com/news/snowplow-driver-shortage-some-us-states-struggle-to-hire-ahead-of-winter-weather

    Ford 7.3 Godzilla

The one in the F150 is capable of pulling 40k pounds. The one in the F250 is only good for 30k.

You could always, ya know, go drive one to find out. The motor has been out for over 2 years and has also been used in fleet/box truck/RV applications and there are certainly quite a few that have racked up some mileage. I haven't heard of that many unusual failures and have been keeping an eye...

    Ford 7.3 Godzilla

I am not doubting that there were a few trucks with a problem. What I am saying is that it doesn't seem super common or that much of a concern. I think if you sat in mine you would agree that mine doesn't have a rough idle. I find it hard to believe that Ford would be mass producing an engine...

From what I had heard, the size was potentially going to be limited by the capabilities of the evap system in the gas truck, not real estate.

One thing that kinda sucks about the XLT package is that the only way to get the 8" instrument cluster (I am not talking about the entertainment display in the center) is to get the Ultimate Trailer Tow package or (I think) 360 cameras. I didn't want that shit and the smaller cluster was the...

If you get the Premium package. I got the value package and they are black. Premium also comes with some chrome caps on the mirrors. I didn't want that.

That is only true for the 7.3. 6.2s all get Sterling. Also, regarding the aftermarket tank size, the company is Transfer Flow and they have only committed to > 45 gallons and it will be north of $2k, plus install. This thread is kept up to date...

    Frontier Fios home internet question

You basically call them and have them activate the Ethernet port on the Optical Network Terminal (ONT). Then plug in your home router. Just need to make sure the WAN port of your router (the one you plug into the ONT and probably currently plug into their router) is set up for DHCP...

Best I have ever got with my 12k 5er is 8MPG (hand calc') and that was being ridiculously gentle on flat ground. Regarding the rear end, there are 2 different rear axles that they put in these things. A Sterling and a Dana. The Dana is stronger and the one they couple to the Powerstroke. My...

Some dealer want a good faith deposit, others don't care. ~$1k seems to be the norm. And has been said, the deposit is fully refundable and is in no way part of a binding agreement for you to buy the truck. Must have been something wrong with those trucks. My build was from H2 2020 and is...

    Ford 7.3 Godzilla

Initially or over time? I think it is around $10.5k MSRP over the 6.2. The 7.3 is $2k over the 6.2. Typically $7 - $8k extra in practice but COVID is making things crazy so it might be closer to MSRP. I know a lot of folks argue the diesel/gas deal but I think they both can make perfect sense...

    Ford 7.3 Godzilla

I have a 2020 Tremor F-250. I tow a 12k 5er. Works great with the 10 speed. I get about 7mpg with the trailer. BTW, the Tremor gets the Dana rear end and the driveline and suspension is identical to the F350 Temor. Only bad thing about the Tremor package is you can't get a long bed and the...

Well Now, This Is What Ya'll Been Talking About...

Good luck with this. Make sure you get some rest. Lots of water and get outside in the fresh air and sunshine. It is good for your body and mind. The upshot to getting it right now is that your family will be through it by Christmas.

    Propane

I actually coincidentally just filled my 20 and 30 pound tanks. They unscrew the bleeder screw until liquid propane comes out. I would say that is pretty full. I will weigh it before I use any and report back.
