Have fun on your cruise- some beautiful spots on that list.

Here's an American scene... from Lake of the Ozarks.

Dry brush filter, a favorite because of what it does to water.

That is an incredible shot...:thumbsup I hope to hit LOTO one day in the near future.

One of the very best parts of my life these days is the fantastic views I get of so many beautiful parts of this country.
Each place has its own special charm and natural attractions in addition to the water activities that are happening.

I am one lucky dog. ;)

And yeah- LOTO is very cool. Plenty of room and lots to do.

Here's a little sumpthin else with a special charm.

Remember those days?

Going to pick your girl up on a date... car's all cleaned and waxed...
your clothes are clean, you smell great, happy as clam in anticipation of a good time.

This is not one of those times. Glad the guys are ok.

Although it looks like a long jump and not much more...
the picture doesn't tell the whole story.

Still looks normal here, so much so I was starting to shift my focus to the next boat.
Until people around me started yelling.

The boat is in the water but it is rolling hard counterclockwise. When the aft port corner digs in, things get sporty.

Here's the moment of re-entry and a close-up of the drive.

The first hop is free, but you will pay for the second.

They had enough forward momentum to turn the boat all the way over again and land upright.

I just love the look of the new OL's.

And with these new high-dollar paint jobs I think it is extremely important that proper attention be paid to the methods that insure longevity of the finish.
That said, I can't remember seeing a more perfect example of great technique for cleaning/polishing some of the hard-to-get-at areas of some of today's spaceship style hulls.

Anyway, felt like it had to be shared-
if I can help one person avoid a scratch to his hull, then my work is complete.

How you recovering jay?

Thanks for asking, Tank...
doing better than I ever would have expected. Haven't had a lot of contact with hospitals over the years since I gave up dirt bikes in my 20's.
Forgive me if this is repeat, because I can't remember what I've posted where, but the laser, robotic surgery is nothing short of incredible.

The surgeon told me he never touched me- robot did everything- built a titanium 'ladder' around the broken one, rods down either side of my spine and screwed to the broke one and one on either side.

been up and about since I got back to Florida, driving for a week now. now that the healing is getting to that stage of discomfort more than pain, the area feels stronger than ever, but still getting used to having that structure in there. Still can be uncomfortable if I get twisted, so I try not to.

Happy as a clam about LOTO, was worried about the reocovey- but not now.

Speaking of LOTO- it is too early for a photo thread, but gotta throw some sponsor love out to them and all my friends who help make this possible.

Down the road, ask the Doc about hanging out the door of a helicopter... :yikes

Glad to here it man!

A good friend of mine had the ladder put in a few years back after he crushed a few vertebrae...yep, dirt bike riding. Never been a problem for him.

Hey, I'd like to get a copy of the pic of the Duval St. sign in front of sloppy joes. Couldn't find it on your site though.

That's good to hear- they told me I would be good as new.
I think what I'm feeling is the scar tissue forming-
I get the feeling that once all is healed, I won't feel much.

The L4 had a pretty good crack but not a complete break.
I guess because of its location near my pelvis, they filled it with some organic 'glue' that promotes bone growth.
Those 2 incisions are much smaller than the other 6.

I want to be all well immediately,
so I will push it and sooner or later will get the flashing red 'that's your spine, fool!' warning light.
But progress and healing is happening and now the pain is receding so I can look at it differently.

I was on a 34cc- my forward position wasn't the best
but it was the trough behind that first wake that did it.
there were actually 3 wakes in quick succession-
there must be a pretty good current right there near that channel opening...
probly didn't help the overall situation.

What happened, happened. It's boating. That's my view.
I'm still walking around and have my life. Let's get on with it.

ShootOut is here and I am stoked.

My gf has had a few disc-ectomies. Mainly from playing competive soccer her whole life. Best advice man is to take it super easy. She is an ER nurse and understands better than most. She still over does it.

Jay, when I was younger, I broke my back, they did the "ladder".. but again that was when I was younger, no robots! Yes, it can be weird to twist and I certainly can't do a backbend anymore. Laying on a hard floor doing crunches is also hard, the rods grind on the floor.

One piece of advise that took my a long time to realize, stay mobile. Move, bend, stretch everyday. If I stop working out or stretching, my back gets really stiff. Again I'm over 20 years post, MOVE! And keep the photo's coming! I want to do LOTO someday so bad! Love your photos happy to hear you are getting better!

I hear ya, B, and thanks.
Already getting a taste of the 'stiffening' thing. Been busy on the puter these last couple days and I feel it immediately after just a few hours of sitting.
I need that motivation to get off my ass, so that's a good thing. I can feel the structure when I am sitting in a hardback chair, when layin in bed it kinda feels like a paperback book in there.

Really stoked for LOTO. Did I mention it's my favorite event of the year? :D
