Looking for suggestions from the locals please.

I'm rolling into San Diego Tuesday late night/Wednesday early AM. Does anyone have any recommendations on a gas station I should stop at to fill up the boat? I will be about 65' overall length and either need the canopy to be 14' 4" or greater (or not have a canopy at all).

I'll be heading to Chula Vista Marina, so anything between maybe El Cajon and the marina would work, hoping to find something right off the highway if possible. I don't want to fill up too far out of town because I don't like towing with all the extra weight. So, the closer to town the better. Should be about 2-3 AM so traffic shouldn't be an issue.

Thank you!

If you are heading down the 8 west. I would stop at tavern Road exit in alpine. Pretty easy to pull in and out of station that's on the right. Not sure about the Price right now. Also Golden Acorn casino has a Truck stop Fuel Station. It would be a breeze. It' is about 35 miles east of Alpine.

Have a safe drive. Can't help with the gas station, but if you need anything let me know.

Golden Acorn would be a breeze.....at 65 feet in length I'm not sure that Chevron on Tavern Road would be so easy, probably doable though.

Was hoping to be closer to the city before I added the weight of fuel.

Thanks!

Anyone know how tall the canopy is at that Chevron in Alpine? I think that will be the best spot. I dont see any signs on it when looking at street view on google maps. Speaking of google maps... so dang cool.

Gas station in Alpine was perfect but damn 4.13 per gallon is nutty. Filled up there and the canopy is 15+ feet.

Now the rest of the day sucked, but netting fuel was cake. Thanks for the recommendation.

You'd think by Campland on the Bay the gas stations would be tall and easy access,, they are not.

I suggest re-fuel at the I-5 Encinitas exit Shell station before entering San Diego, or on your way out. It has ample room to negotiate your RV or boat and average prices.

The price of gas, water and electricity is the worst in San Diego. I've heard reasons why, but have not verified. I chalk it up as the price to live in place many only get to visit!
