I think you have to be a resident to use it. Don Johnson will know.

We had a place there for over 10 years. Great spot on the river. Private marina, great stretch of river, off road trails, and a very nice community.

It is a private marine. Residents that live there can use it. You have to buy a sticker and you get an access card. My brother had a place in there and he "sponsored" me so I could use the marina as well.

Marina use to be real shallow when water was low early mornings and late afternoons. This was 20 years ago. Not sure if that ever changed. Great sandy beaches in that area too. Most were accessible by 4x4. Indian land along that stretch of river. You need a pass or permit for the beaches I think. Maybe someone with more recent experience can explain what the current deal is.

what everyone else said....

I launch my F32 there all the time even when water is low. By late summer the seaweed gets pretty bad and can foul my water pickups so I just jump in and defoul after I exit the marina. Besides that the services at our private marina are awesome. On normal weekends rarely any lines, max 10 minute wait to launch and retrieve.

I'm hoping with the new boat it will be a little easier going past the bridge in Needles. We used to launch the Nordic in bullhead and go to havasu but something told me not to continue doing it.

Another nice little perk for WV owners is for a few bucks can reserve a slip for the day or overnight...

Dave, you are always welcome to our hood, bring Stacey and a trailer to tow your liver home with. I will PM you when we go out and see if you want to come up and visit.

We really like it in WV, its very diverse and away from the hassles of Havasu yet can boat down into Havasu, trailer up to Mohave (20 minutes), killer offroading from our driveway. Avi and Laughlin right there to throw some cards and 4 awesome golf courses all within 10/15 minutes. When we sold the Parker place we looked everywhere including Havasu and decided to build in WV, it fit us and our lifestyle.

Not sure if they are still there, but for a brief time in 2008 I dated a girl who's family had a place. Brian and Rachelle Bootow.

Bootows are very good friends of ours! We see them more in OC then WV since Brian sold his share in the house to his partner Eric.

I went to high school with Rocky and her sis Michelle. I dated Michelle off and on over the last 20 years.

Next time you see them please tell Joe says hello! They will know who I am.

Great year round fun. Never crowded. The marina is the gem of the community. Close to food, off-roading and casinos but still quite. The negative for some is the shallow water in the am. I launch a 24 ft boat and have never had a problem. Besides the rock bars keep the masses away. Once you learn how to deal with the water level it is no problem.

To echo what many have said, Willow Valley is an awesome spot. A good friend's family has had a place there for 20+ years. Joined them for my 1st river trip at 17 (bought 1st POS boat immediately after and it's been downhill ever since ;)). Very cool diverse community with everything from retirees in single wide trailers to custom built homes with 50' RV garages. Only drawback to private marina is low water levels in AM and the rock bar which lies just South. Definitely need a local to show you the correct routes.

Driven through there several times to check it out. We looked at WV but ended up buying/building down the road a bit. Is there a tweaker population in WV?

There is a tweeker issue at times, kind of ebb and flow. That's the problem with an community that is primarily weekenders.

That said, nothing a quality alarm system and gun can't address. My place has cameras and alarm for when I am not there and Smith & Wesson for when I am. Never had a problem. Those that don't have security system are easy targets.

Hey Zack, are you in WV often? Let me know I use a fair amount of your product and will buy some when you come in town. The crew we run with there all use your stuff.

Everyone freaks out when water is low..... There can be rare times when it is so low the marina cant be used, just launch from the Jet Ski ramp, it is plenty deep at all times and has a small sand beach right next to it to pick up truck driver. I use that ramp all the time with my boat when it is super low like in October.

Is there a "better" section of Willow Valley?

For example, north of King Street, west of Golden Valley Road?

The high rent district is the stick built only areas which is next to Dike Rd near the marina and all of Carob. The rest of WV is a mixed bag of stick builts and mobiles. Most homes are well kept but there is certainly a fair amount of not so well kept.

I ran it today with the Cougar. No problems at all. I know the river from bull head down very well. These boats draft very little water on plane. Jack it up and fly!

If we are ever out there at the same time, I'd be happy to show you the route through some of the shallower spots.

I'd love to do it and start launching from the Bullhead area again in lieu of towing to Smith.:thumbsup

We met a guy in gambling in Laughlin a few weeks back that knew you pretty well as he had a place there up until him and his wife parted ways.

It's all a matter of studying the flows, release timing, and the few areas to avoid.

I'd be happy to show you.

The flows at willow peak before midnight. Then go down until 9-10am. Then start to rise again around 12. Usually the flows are comfortably safe @2-3pm for unfamiliar boaters. Especially early season. Late in the summer/early fall, one needs to really know where the spots are.

We usually stay at moabi now. The impacts of the flows are delayed and less than upriver. Peak is in the early morning. Then the levels drop thought the day before rising again later in the afternoon.

The current is also faster upriver. Some spots are 3-5 mph versus below needles of .5 to 2 mph
