Man, what a trip down memory lane! LOL I just went through the whole thread.. I'm not sure that I should laugh or cry that I knew or had about 90% of the stuff in this thread! :D

For the guy that found the family truckster at a Pick a part.. How did you not buy it and restore it! It's gotta be worth BANK!

It didn't look like a hero car, either a copy by a fan or one destined for the jump scene or other stunt.

I can't remember what I was there for but when walked up onto the truckster I about fell over, I was wondering where it's been all these years the paint was in decent shape so it was indoors, and it did cross my mind to buy it, I could cruise into any cruise night and people would flock to it guaranteed. I would have to drive it to RD's house so he could add it to his "random cars in my driveway" thread. It was a cool trip down memory lane.

I was sitting at the bar with Mullet Jim at Frankies Tiki Room in Las Vegas this past year.
What should come on the TV screens and sound system but Korla Pandit.
His music fit a Tiki bar perfectly.

This guy was HUGE.
All the stay at home moms loved this guy on TV every afternoon.
A genuine TV BFD to them. A pioneer and complete original. Liberace arrived a little later on.

Miserlou. Later a hit by Surf guitar Dick Dale and later featured in the movie Pulp Fiction:

He claimed he was from India and had interesting parents in New Delhi.
He pulled the ruse off for 50 years and everyone bought into it.

In fact, he was African American and was from Columbus/Hanibal Missouri and his dad ran a church.
Still Jim Crow era and a black man wouldn't be able to go the distance in show business so he changed his identity and was a major hit.
Even Nat King Cole had to quit his excellent TV show for lack of sponsors because he was black.

An amazing keyboardist his music really fits in a Tiki Bar. Especially with vintage porn on some of the other TV's and lezzies going down on each other in the mens room.
Really fits the atmosphere.

Who remembers going outside and riding one of these. Yes it's a 80s Robinson laid back seat post and all, not mine.

I was a Mathews fan myself...then started welding up my own frames.:thumbsup

How about this ribbon candy that your grandma always had in a bowl on a table in the den or on top of the TV. I swear it was the same candy for the whole year and it always got replaced around Christmas time and it was always stuck together.
