It's finally time! Today starts our adventure to the Abacos. Beaches, boats, fun, and sun are the only plans. We'll be staying in Treasure Cay (pronounced 'key' for those not in the know), which is rated by National Geographic as one of the top 10 in the world.

Currently sitting at the airport, waiting for BarryMac and his bride to join us.

Good times ahead. Stay tuned.

Today: PHX->MIA -> Nassau
Tomorrow: Nassau -> Marsh Harbour, Great Abaco

Hard to beat the Bahamas - there are a ton of great beaches and sand bars that are as nice as any place in the world.

Have fun!

Gonna be another awesome thread and looking forward to hearing about this.

Wife and I are a few weeks away from reserving next years trip somewhere tropical so we’re anxious to see how this goes. It’s on the list.

Nassau is a lot of fun. Go check out the pirates of Nassau bar and museum. Kinda cool little place.

Damn it that looks amazing!

Did you VRBO a home? Sorry, I might have missed the details.

Yes. We did VRBO for a 2 bd/2bth condo. The owner is freeking amazing. She arranged the transportation and the golf cart rental was waiting for us when we arrived. She's been sending info for the past few weeks about what to do, tips, etc.

That doesn't suck.

You will have to do a review after it is over regarding this vacation and the condo versus the barefoot cruise you did in BVI.

I have been following along at home. Wife is on board with this type of vacation.

Your vacations don't suck!!!

Love that place! We did a bare-boat catamaran for 9 days there 10 years ago and stayed 2 nights at that resort after turning in the boat. I need to go back!

Jealous! Post lots of pics please.

We juse came back from 10 days on. Marine Max Charter in the BVI and then stayed an extra 4 days in a super nice VRBO house on St Thomas. 2ND day at the house our whole group said that we should have just stayed on the boat.

Absolutely, never leave the boat for a hotel unless it’s a route home one nighter.

Not to jack her thread but how was the damage and island facilities and was the reef messed up.

We did Marinemax in 2016 I figured it would take 4 years to really recover. I see they have a new 36’ but not an enclosed galley

You can still see some devasation like bitter end, saba rock and sopers hole. Other places you would never know they had a rain shower.
In a another year or 2 things will be better than before.
I wouldn't and we didn't let the hurricanes keep us from going. It really is a trip of a lifetime.

Keep them coming Mel.
We are looking at Moorings in both Abaco and Exumas for next June right now. Also looking at a house or villa and maybe just rent a center console boat there too if they are available.

Positive Trim, now at Coco's Beach Bar in Treasure Cay, Abaco [emoji1303] Hopefully a hurricane doesn't tear this building down like it did to the places I put stickers in BVI. #effirma

Enjoy! Looking forward to your photos. Love the Caribbean. Looking like Beryl will pass through the area as a Tropical Storm. Maybe not a Hurricane, but still plenty of wind.

Your choice of the Bahamas was a good one. Looks like the system will remain well south of there.

Is Saba Rock back open yet?
