The theromstat/ element caught fire. Parts are about $150, but the water heater is from 2001. Just getting replaced.
Just from bad thermostat contacts or some other contributing factor, like a loose connection etc. ? Unintentional self-perpetuating electrical resistance maladies, eventually revealing themselves with smoke and flames
The kinda shit that no matter the safety nannies and tamper resistant arc-fault, ground fault do-dads, can burn shit down.
Like the aluminum wire fiasco, you knew there was a problem when a receptacle began to glow in the dark

My suspicion is dryer lint. There was a very very large quantity of it in and around the cover. It caught fire right next to the hole in the covers that you could adjust the temperature on.

What is that comparable too? I saw that the other day and it was only $24.95 for a 1/5 great price i usually drink Woodford.

Trace make some good everyday bourbon. They also make Pappy van winkle as well.

A few from the weekend. Pulled the plug a bit early yesterday. Ended up driving to Topock. Took a run to Devil’s Elbow (with Lurker Jim) and back this afternoon. Great to be back on the water again.
Thanks again Widge. Your place was perfect. Crap load of boat parking and the remodel looks great.

We saw you guys at Porthole but didn't realize it was you, since we haven't met. My wife and I commented how well trained & behaved your dog is. I told your husband I liked his shirt. We left and drove the boats out to Benicia. Hope to meet you guys next time.

Gunnison-Pinkin-Hancock pass-St Elmo-Tin Cup - Pinkin - Crested Butte.

Stopped briefly to save a drowning 8 year old in the alpine lake by Tin Cup that fell out of her kayak 200 yards from shore.
