Hey everyone. My best friend Justin just bought a boat from Horizon in havasu and wants to change up the gel and have the interior changed up to get rid of some of the colors.

What shops are in Havasu that can do this in a fairly quick but high quality fashion?

He is wanting to ditch the purple in the interior and gel and doing a more "edgy/streamlined design" for the gel. He wants to keep the green.

Saleen for the gel - Good work and will not break the bank. I got no recommendations for interior in Havasu.

A full re-do of the gel is going to be north of $10,000, and then $7500 or so for an interior on a bow rider.

I would have just kept shopping until I found a Boat that had better qualities I wanted. I hope he stroked a smoking deal, because he is going to be north of an extra 20k once its all said and done like Walt mentioned!

I agree a full re-do of gel will be very expensive. I would suggest to talk to Pedro at Saleen. He is a flat out nice guy and will always give you options. If he just wants to take the purple out that's an easy job for a good gel coater.

I would even suggest to go to all the major shops in town first. Get some there ideas, prices and availability. Then go to Saleen. Pic the best option for yourself. Nordic would also be a great option to get it all done in one place.

Seam Dreams for the interior, Saleen for the gel. Hes gonna be shelling out $15K+ by the time he is done.. and that will be just changing the carpet and eliminating the design on the interior and keeping all the white.

I'd throw a wrap on it and then have a shop just pull the purple portions out of the interior and replace with dark grey maybe? ? Interior looks to be in good shape. Wouldn't want to re-do the whole thing. Save a shit ton of money doing it that way.

How much are they going for?
I was quoted 7800.00 to wrap a 28ft enclosed trailer.and that was nothing fancy... 2 colors and using the existing white on the trailer to match my moho... I could get it painted for 1500.00 cheaper!!! Needless to say , trailer tows just fine all white...

Gator wraps wanted $450 to replace the stickers on the door inlays of my RZR in a single solid color. And I had already removed the original stickers.

I ended up buying the material to do it myself and bought enough to do it twice for $28.

Tell him to leave it alone. Looks great the way it is. Who gives a crap about the purple, it looks good. If I was going to spend $15k-$20k on a cat, it would be on engine, drive and stereo upgrades.

I actually haven’t. I didn’t pay for the wrap on our cigarette, it was done through powerboat magazine article. But I’m going To wrap my 2door Tahoe. Buddy owns a shop and he’s gonna do it for about 6 times cheaper than I was quoted for paint. Wrap was historically always cheaper than paint. Usually 1/3 the cost. Why has this changed??

Custom wrap is cheaper than custom paint. A single color is where it gets inverted I think.

Wrap is always the same amount of labor, paint is not.

yea, if the wrap is MINIMUM of half the price as paint (and really, more like 1/4 the price) then you’re getting ripped off.
